From the rules page, the part mentioning politics:
Please, remember that this is a game about airplanes.
Political discussions are removed because they are in no way related to aviation and only serve to spark angry comment wars, not because the website owners want to infringe on your rights or whatever.
If you went to a forum about Minecraft for example I imagine they'd do the same, you should post this on Facebook or some other social media.
Also, not everyone here is from the US.
@Damienhiroshi Means you want to be "tagged" (hence the T) on the airplane post when it's released.
You know how you just got a notification because I mentioned your username on this comment? They're asking for me to do that when I release the plane so they get notified of it.
Pro tip: Don't see other players as competition, compare your planes only to others you also made.
It's not like anyone's gonna earn a prize if they reach 500k points or something, everyone is just making stuff because they like to do so, and you should as well.
For anyone who gets an error about an invalid variable or something, clicking "Make a copy" created a broken copy of the spreadsheet that gave me that error.
To get the correct version I needed to right-click the blue square at the bottom, then select "Copy to > New spreadsheet".
This reminded me my old account is still following virtually everyone here
I wonder how many unread posts are in its jetstream, probably over 20k by now
I might be able to still get some of them.
Not sure if the rules allow me to share them here though, I think I'd need to send them on discord or something.
11 hours? Guess I should check back tomorrow then.
For anyone who wants to try this out, it's something called "AeroCloud", here's a link. Requires making a free account to use though.
@100 Oh I just noticed you listed the specs of your PC and man you're right.
Windows 8.1 is a less resource-intensive system though (at least in my personal experience), so it might still perform a bit better.
OSX
~/Library/Application Support/Jundroo/SimplePlanes/Mods/
To install mods on an OSX version of SimplePlanes, copy mods into the above directory. The library folder may be hidden by default, so if you have trouble finding it, check out the article here.
The Mac App Store version of the game does not support modding due to Apple's App Store policies. Sorry.
@ColonelCanada Interesting. It also runs for me, but it took a few minutes to load and froze a short while after touching water. The game also refused to load after reopening it, I had to delete the _editor.xml file to fix it.
@ColonelCanada It flies fairly well but nothing in the cockpit seems to do anything, is that intentional? If it wasn't meant for VR you could've just added glass shaped like a canopy since that's normally easier to do, take a look at my F-15 or ReinMcDeer's planes for some examples.
The plane also wobbles a bit on landing so I guess you can't just hold down the brake button as soon as you touch the runway, not entirely sure how that could be fixed though, might be due to the main gear wheels being too close together.
Anyways, it's a nice plane, it doesn't take off in 5 seconds and controls very well, I'd spotlight it if I could.
I'd advise you to try not to care and dedicate your time to more meaningful things, I don't think people will stop doing that just because of an angry post.
Why does it even matter anyway? You can just, y'know, scroll past those posts, or even just avoid the forums entirely.
He seems to have credited people who built the parts of the planes you linked, so according to the site rules he did nothing wrong.
Edit: Except for the first plane, that one is actually stolen.
It does look pretty cool actually, T
Btw you can only tag up to 3 people per comment, so Colonel "Canafa" and Turbo18 didn't get notified.
To tag more than 3 people, split the tags between different comments, in sets of 3.
When you download a plane, you're actually downloading a .splane file, which you then have to open with SimplePlanes (the same way you open any other file) for it to download the airplane you want.
Once it does it'll show up in the designer, you should probably also save it so you don't lose it when loading a different plane.
@ColonelCanada The site owners (aka devs) are relatively chill when it comes to off-topic content. A side-effect of that is people forgetting what this site was about in the first place and treating it like a social media.
Not sure what could be done about it, limiting all content to aviation-related things could result in some problems, especially since there are quite a few people who make things like cars and boats and you'll could never list every possible non-spam post in the rules.
I suggest we just ignore the "hourly life report" forum posts and don't mess with the site rules regarding off-topic content.
You also need space below and above it
[4 spaces go here]
textlike that

Seems unlisted upvoting no longer works.
+1R.I.P.
What on...
+1Why is the floor spiky? What are those black hexagons? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!
For anyone who gets an error about an invalid variable or something, clicking "Make a copy" created a broken copy of the spreadsheet that gave me that error.

Oh so that's why they asked me for a rotation
Guess I'll have to wait some more, I did get a sweet technical paper on the aerodynamics of the perpetually cobra maneuvering plane though, so that's nice at least.
Edit: Not sure if attempt 2 is much better

@HuskyDynamics01 Appears to work perfectly, thanks!
@100 so an FPS game? I don't play a lot of those.
@100 dunno what that is
@Dragoranos why not
@100 Oh I just noticed you listed the specs of your PC and man you're right.

Works fine for me, are you sure you typed it right?
@100 Windows 10, 8.1 was discontinued a while ago so while it'd probably run better I'd rather not take the risk.
@100 Impossible.
@32 Nope. My PC is about as good as the average phone from 2 years ago, I doubt the game would even boot up anymore after installing that.
+1Cannot convert null to 'bool' because it is a non-nullable value type
+1@ColonelCanada yeah this thing is weird, it has laptop parts even though it's a desktop pc
+2Hey do you have time to test something in VR?
+1I don't have a mac device but I found this here:
Hope it helps.
That's 16 times the amount I have, I think you won't need another upgrade for a few decades
+1@ColonelCanada Interesting.

@PlaneFlightX Funny enough, your comment made it easier to find this.
T
@PPLLAANNEE fair enough
@ColonelCanada Hey you say you have a good phone right? Can it run this thing?
+1The XML file is 3MB in size, what on earth
+3@Graingy no
why is there an android link

Apparently the post can't be seen any more by contributors, but it still shows up for me.
How interesting...

spooky title lol
+1MIG-29
And now I actually made one, how interesting.
(well it wasn't the C version but still)
@Otana A drawing of this would be nice, just a suggestion.

+1I've edited this comment so many times I forgot what the point of it was, my bad.

@Dathcha nah man it's too epic for images
@Graingy I didn't make this up, it's a real plane

@Bellcat my guy it's a joke post
@V Checked the entire alphabet plus every number, and they're all taken.
If the name you're talking about is 4 someone already took it a while ago.
