This is really nice! It looks good and flies pretty decent. Two things could make it a little better: 1. Having the CoM further from the CoL will give it better manoeuvrability. Try to either add a little more weight to the nose or remove some from the rear. 2. The twin booms seem a little short so making them a little longer would definitely improve its looks. Overall though great job!

  • F-25A 4.5 years ago

This is a pretty good build! The proportions of parts is a little off. Some parts seem too big (canopy) and some too small (fuselage and verticale stabilisers). Apart from this though it looks nice and has good detailing on it. I like the changes you made to the gun to have it be a little more realistic but the ammo count feels a little too low. Most of the recent US fighter which use a 20mm have between 450-600 rounds of ammo. That’s just nit picking though. Overall very good job!

I saw your blackbird yesterday and I’m glad you gave it another go! This time you did really really well and it’s looks great. It’s always important to look at diagrams and photos from different angles before building a replica. Fantastic job!

  • He 114 4.5 years ago

@KH2B yup it’s just practice and experience! It took me very long to figure out how to do that when custom wheels were introduced. Better have that knowledge earlier. If you ever need some other tips or help, feel free to ask :)

  • Synergy—Entry— Future Vehicle Challenge 4.5 years ago

Hey it actually flies now and you can takeoff and land! Nice changes you made :)

  • He 114 4.5 years ago

For one of your first uploads this is excellent! A small tip though: when making tail dragged undercarriage, set the wheel traction to manual and to 50%. It will make takeoff and landing smoother :)

Now your next goal is 747,100

  • Douglas TBD Devastator 4.5 years ago

Pretty neat and I like how you made the torpedo only able to be deployed within a certain speed and altitude. One small mistake which causes a pretty big problem though is that you set the traction of the front wheels to 150%. This way, you can’t takeoff or land properly. Reduce this to 50% and it will take off perfectly

  • This Concept can change how you play Simple Planes. 4.5 years ago

@typeZERO Surprisingly, SimplePlanes is as realistic as you want it to be. If you play around with wing shape, wing area, drag points, engine power, having air breaks activate when you pitch to simulate realistic deceleration, and much more. On the other hand, you can have your plane pull 20g turns at 1000mpg with a radius of 50m hahahaha

  • DEVS. I have a Suggestion that MAY change how people Build Aircrafts in Simple Planes. 4.5 years ago

@typeZERO No that’s not really what I mean. Warhead weight would both effect the agility but also damage an explosion could cause. Furthermore, I don’t really like the idea of a damage setting. Missiles work through explosive wave pressure and shrapnel. The larger the warhead, the greater the explosion but that doesn’t necessarily mean the shrapnel will have as long of a travel distance because that depends on their velocity. So warhead weight would change what the pressure wave does and blast radius would change the range at which the shrapnel is effective. This is all pretty complex though but, in my opinion at least, better than the ace combat style which can take multiple direct hits to score a kill. Basically I agree with half of your point but blast damage scaling isn’t the right way to change weapon power in my opinion.

  • DEVS. I have a Suggestion that MAY change how people Build Aircrafts in Simple Planes. 4.5 years ago

@typeZERO oh I thought it just took many hits to shoot the plane down since it was in range of the shrapnel for multiple explosions. If the three variables “damage radius”, “warhead weight” (which would have effect on manoeuvrability), and proximity to detonate could be changed either directly or in XML files, it would make missiles much more realistic. If that’s what your video shows then I 100% support it!

  • This Concept can change how you play Simple Planes. 4.5 years ago

@typeZERO it was the first game I got back when the first PSP came out. I think I shared my view on this in another post but I think that adding missile explosion radius is a good idea. Also choosing the weight of the warhead might be a better idea than missile damage. Since a “good hit” on a fighter sized aircraft is almost a 100% guaranteed kill, it would be better if missiles were less likely to get a good hit. The further away the missile explodes, the less damage it does to the plane. At the moment, getting any kind of hit with a missile is an almost guaranteed kill in SP but taking distance from the explosion into account in regards to damage would be a good idea. The ace combat idea of multiple missile hits on one target to get a kill takes away realism

I really like this build! It’s shape is very well made, better than 95% of the mig 21s I see on here. I also like that you added custom wings to it as well. What would be cool now is to add some little details to it and maybe even try custom control surfaces!

  • Synergy Plane —Entry—Future Vehicle Challenge 4.5 years ago

@Hellosss38 okay good to hear. As long as it can maintain level flight around 200mph it should be good

  • PoiyaYudatsi J.74 Hiei 4.5 years ago

@MBR6753 well your efforts 100% paid off!

  • Synergy Plane —Entry—Future Vehicle Challenge 4.5 years ago

@Hellosss38 I would try to reduce the weight as well as add more power. It’s very heavy for a 5 seater aircraft and has an extraordinarily heavy amount of fuel. The shape itself is cool but it would be even better if it worked. Some gear would also make this much better :)

  • Synergy Plane —Entry—Future Vehicle Challenge 4.5 years ago

@Hellosss38 I left an edit to my previous comment. The plane seems far too underpowered for its weight

  • Synergy Plane —Entry—Future Vehicle Challenge 4.5 years ago

It doesn’t exactly fly though. Am I missing something?
Edit: correction: it flies but only if you spawn it above 6000ft because that’s how much it will altitude it will lose before it achieves speed to retain level flight

  • DEVS. I have a Suggestion that MAY change how people Build Aircrafts in Simple Planes. 4.5 years ago

Interesting idea but I think it should be a little refined. Most planes will crash if the missile gets a “good hit”. Making the missiles less reliable in getting a good hit is an interesting idea. This way if it would detonate at too great a distance from the plane it could do it some damage but not render it inoperable or even completely destroy it. I saw a post from someone recently which made a missile system that did just this but it was too unreliable and the missiles had an odd flight pattern

  • How kid friendly is Simple Planes? 4.5 years ago

The game itself is harmless and has nothing which could be interpreted as inappropriate for a 9 year old. There is no communication with other players through the game itself but that is possible on the website. The moderators are very good at making sure that any inappropriate content stays off the website as well so as long as your child doesn’t make an account, it should all be age appropriate :)

  • Portrait of Stalin 4.5 years ago

@SCPMTF12 lol calling America sinful but defending China. China also invaded Vietnam with worse intent. The United States wanted to stop the spread of communism and the southern part of the country wanted to remain free. Thus, they were defending half of a country from an oppressive dictatorship. Yes there were war crimes committed there but they were on all sides. That doesn’t make the US a monster for what they did. Also, I am from a former Oppressive Socialist country and I sure am glad communism was eradicated from there. It was Yugoslavia and Yugoslavia was supposedly the most free and advanced socialist nation in the world.

This build is really good! A few things could make it better though. The turret and wing bombs both seem a little too big for the rest of the aircraft so maybe changing the size of those would be beneficial. I really love the turret aiming on this build and the wings are very good too!

The exact same thing in regards to my comment on your wombat applies to this. The underlying design is really good but everything feels too small. Don’t be afraid to build bigger, it actually makes it easier. You also have some lovely details in this one too. If it was longer and wider, you’d have more space to work on

  • CAC CA-20 Wombat (fictional) 4.5 years ago

This is a really cool idea that I think you can make way better than this. The underlying design for the plane is very good but I think the proportions you gave it are a little off. Its length and wingspan is a bit short and the nose would look better if it stuck out a little more. I think this would be a really easy plane to make a rebuild of but have it be far better than the original. Don’t get me wrong, I like this, but after seeing your latest build, I think you have the potential to make it far cooler than it is now :)
