hehe... this thing looks familiar :D not bad at all, considering you're on a phone or tablet. Quite good-looking for such a low part count! Pretty unstable if you fly it with keyboard controls, though -jumps all over the place. Probably better if you have a joystick (or yes, on a phone or tablet). Check your flaps, too; they don't seem to work.
Looks absolutely stunning! I would love to take it for a drive, but even very conservative cornering at > 30 mph (i.e. old folks' rollator speeds) results in a crash. Am I doing sth wrong, or is the real Montero actually that dangerous..?? LOL
@MAHADI ...which more often than not makes you end up with flaps and ailerons that are (at least) as thick as they're wide -control surfaces with the shape and size of a Louis XIV cupboard ;) noooo thanks.
@GuyFolk sure it's bound to be twitchy -but the effect is somewhat over the top now. Even small corrections result in the plane hopping all over the place. Probably mostly due to SP's physics model of course, but still... I don't have a Draken in my garage, so I won't claim to be experienced in how it flies. But I don't imagine it hops around like a rabbit with every sudden change of direction.
I beg to differ -the looks are fine, great even. It's definitely a cool build, but the plane behaves like a lowrider on Pesco pumps, jumping all over the place.
@MAHADI It seemed like a most fitting livery in this case... makes a nice change from putting red stars on all old Soviet planes. BTW -I notice I forgot to de-mod the plane. Just dl and judge without the mod... sorry 'bout that.
@MrACEpilot I hate "camo" in SP... there's no possibility to use textures, so all attempts to make a camo pattern look like absolute sh* -nothing cool about that. Even a simple two-tone paint scheme adds quite a part count, and it will still look like crap. Silver may be boring, but it's also the standard livery of these planes...
@EternalDarkness Credit added... I really even had no idea where these originally came from; I must have at least 3 or 4 different AIM-9's (or Atolls, if you will) in my ridiculously long list of subassemblies.
@KnightOfRen The "trick" is the same as always; just download, when you get the error about the mod just hit "undo" and then "redo"... presto, the plane minus the mod. The cockpit will look a bit funny without it, though... :D :D
@KnightOfRen LOL... any U-2 will do fine, I guess. There are ample U-2's on SP, and none of them are much of a challenge if you use the missiles. But hitting them with the Su-9 itself is not so easy...
@WarHawk95 my, aren't you a nitpick... let's call 'em R510's then, why not. Doesn't matter, since the IVA HAD NO MISSILES AT ALL. But if it's going to dogfight planes in the game, then it would be at a bit of a disadvantage with cannons-only. And AIM-9's would look very weird indeed.
Quite 2001-ish, except for the hole of course. If you post a decent copy of the Zarathustra-accompanied discovery by the neanderthals, I'll give you an upvote for it.
@ScorpionSpace sorry my friend, can't help you -not without having tested the plane, anyway. Depends on how you define "shaking". If you have it posted, even as unlisted, I could have a quick look.
@DilophDilophTheDumDum well, yes. As in "she's not elegant, but by jove, she works!" ;) I could have said "holy crap, that's one fine plane" -but since the Lightning is definitely and very much British...
@AsteroidAsteroidTheBook yeah... you're right, and I did consider it. Small effort to add a few plates & rotators. But let's face it; in-game, nobody's going to randomly switch cam views to check on the functioning of the intake vents. And I couldn't find a decent FDS on these, so whatever functionality I programmed was likely to be wrong anyway. Seemed pointless to add randomly opening/closing vent ports, running up the part count even further if nobody even notices/cares. Got your point, though, and it's valid...
@CharlesDeGaulle hmmm... I think they're rather ugly, in a beautiful sort of way. Let's face it; the Su-7 is a glorified stovepipe with wings. On top of that, the Soviet rule for "flush rivets" was that they shouldn't stick out more than 2 centimeter or so ;) difficult to emulate in SP, but still...
@ChiChiWerx yes, interesting indeed. The Su-11 is a different kettle of fish (hehe) of course, being a delta-winged interceptor. Still, the planes are related... and I did plan to make a Su-9 and Su-11 as well. So we should compare, by all means!
@BND1 the mod is not absolutely required, just some cockpit cosmetics. See AWESOMNESS360's guide further below -you can easily use this plane without the mod.
@FireFast212 Nothing fancy... just some gyro's with different settings, all working together to produce the required effect depending on AG's activated.
@cats Very true. This isn't one specific MiG-19 model; it has the nose radar of the P/PM but the pitot of the S (would have been on the wingtip with the P), the J-6 drag chute, the Atolls which were a later modification of existing P's etc...
@DilophDilophTheDumDum The air brakes automatically come out at 95% flaps because I'm lazy -I used 'em to bleed speed on landing approach anyway, so why bother having to press another AG button? You're absolutely right about the landing gear... I did that last, but didn't have enough parts left to make a good copy of the MiG's landing gear. The result is sth that looks half-decent from a distance, with your eyes pinched ;)
I'm fine with paying tribute to the golden age of France. I love French planes -they have some great designs, and the Mirages are absolute classics & are still relevant today. But I don't recognize this one -sorry...
@TMach5 oh, OK... I thought the A-6 had flaperons. So the airbrakes are approx in the right place, but you made... ehm... brakerons? ;) why not! It works, anyway...
@Mateuspilot It's only 1k parts, so that can't be the problem I guess
hehe... this thing looks familiar :D not bad at all, considering you're on a phone or tablet. Quite good-looking for such a low part count! @Mateuspilot same way you shoot all missiles in SP, I guess...
Bellissima!

Ah... sorry, almost forgot to leave a message. So: German plane, use as dive bomber/attacker or as heavy fighter, as you will... it can do both.
judging by its weight, it's probably just painted steel. Fake! Fake! ;) LOL
Very fun plane, this! Not really an Ar-234 though, but that's easy to forgive.
@GuyFolk don't think you need anything fancy... probably just a matter of balancing it right, playing with the wing shape & size, elevons etc...
@ollielebananiaCFSP meh... mostly cuz I can't be bothered. I usually don't look at the plane's belly when flying it.
@GuyFolk sure it's bound to be twitchy -but the effect is somewhat over the top now. Even small corrections result in the plane hopping all over the place. @hRmm yeah I know -but don't blame me... if SP would switch to using textures, we wouldn't have to spend 90% of the part count on silly details ;)
@MAHADI It seemed like a most fitting livery in this case... makes a nice change from putting red stars on all old Soviet planes. BTW -I notice I forgot to de-mod the plane. Just dl and judge without the mod... sorry 'bout that.

@KnightOfRen 100..? Lucky you. I have 1265, and no list or filing system LOL it's a small miracle I can find anything at all...
@EternalDarkness Credit added... I really even had no idea where these originally came from; I must have at least 3 or 4 different AIM-9's (or Atolls, if you will) in my ridiculously long list of subassemblies.
@KnightOfRen ehm... I can see the screenshot just fine. Bit small and grainy, but it shows.
@KnightOfRen Thanks! That was certainly an extremely quick judging session...
@KnightOfRen The "trick" is the same as always; just download, when you get the error about the mod just hit "undo" and then "redo"... presto, the plane minus the mod. The cockpit will look a bit funny without it, though... :D :D

@KnightOfRen working on a first-gen MiG-2P-F13... not really everyone's favorite '21 probably, but OK...
@KnightOfRen Thanks a lot!

Multi-purpose Cohiba..?

@ShootsPlanes How does this look like a MiG-21..?
@ChiChiWerx yes, interesting indeed. The Su-11 is a different kettle of fish (hehe) of course, being a delta-winged interceptor. Still, the planes are related... and I did plan to make a Su-9 and Su-11 as well. So we should compare, by all means!
@MAHADI nah... there's lots of time until dec 17, I'll cook up sth new...
Haha... damn, and I just released a pair of Suitable Sukhois...
@Queazyairplane16 Sorry, absolutely no idea why the mod doesn't work for you.
@BND1 the mod is not absolutely required, just some cockpit cosmetics. See AWESOMNESS360's guide further below -you can easily use this plane without the mod.

@AerialFighterSnakes It has afterburners. You don't scare away goats, you roast 'em.

@metallicplanes ... and so you lost me again :s
@metallicplanes nope, I didn't. Sorry 'bout that.
@metallicplanes I still haven't the faintest what your comment was about. Care to elaborate?
@MobileFriendly OK -well, I guess we can add that kind of hardware ourselves if we want to. Point taken. Again, very nice & clean build.
