  • Update v1.10 - Smooth as Glass 4.2 years ago

I recently encountered a bug with a plane. I made a kind of napalm bomb with multiple custom named rockets connected to the same pylon, activated by a FT input. When the level is started, the rockets forget their custom name and fire immediately, causing the plane to explode if spawned on the ground. I told it to Andrew but I don't know what happens next. Any update about that ?

  • Coordinate measurement plane 3.9 years ago

I'm afraid you made something too complicated...
Just go to the title screen, go to SETTINGS, tap the menu 5 times.
Now go in the designer, go fly, and tap the screen once with three fingers at the same time.
It opens the Dev console. Type "DebugExression Latitude", enter, and type "DebugExression Longitude", enter again.
Close the console and fly normally.
Your game now displays your exact coordinates.
Thanks to this trick, I compelled some coordinates corresponding to some of the many locations.
(Also, could you modify your second radio-compass with these new coordinates ?)

  • on bans 3.9 years ago

Honestly, I disagree with this part :

f the ban is for a controversial reason, it may be in the mod team's best interest to delay a ban until further discipline is needed to preserve the current condition of the community. Banning such a user can also make more users dislike the mod team, which can have grave consequences.

I think the moderators are here to enforce the rules, not please the community. If a popular user screws up, it's the moderators' duty to punish him, as ED said, accordingly to the gravity of the offence. No matter if the user is the one with the worst behavior or the most popular user. Everybody must follow the rules.
The mods can't just begin to make exempt particular players from following the rules, that's not how it works.

@LUFTWAFFALES I'm not sure but I might have understood in the previous comments that you were considering commiting suicide.
    Let me tell you something.
I lost my father 7 days after my 11th birthday from a cancer.
    It's been 7 years 1/2 since.
I got depression and I didn't have any more taste in life. But I continued living for my mom and my twin brother.
I then lost my grandpa, and recently my bro's cat passed away.
    I still live my life.
I must say I saw a psychologist for years but now I'm not that depressed anymore, and even though I'm not the happiest person alive, I don't consider suicide as a good option.
There's always a way to solve your problems, but ending your life isn't a solution.
It would only be a proof of weakness and it would just sadden your family and friends.
You need help, so don't decline the help you're being offered.
You chose to talk to us about your problems. That's nice, at least you're not remaining silent. But now you have to go further and let us help you.

@AndrewGarrison I know you're surely busy and it's not really the place to talk about it but I don't see any other wauy to contact you and I don't know if you saw my last message.
I have finished reading Guts 'N Gunships since maybe 2 weeks now, and I read in it that your dad lost his father due to a cancer when he was young.
I, too, lost my dad when I was 11, in 2013 (7 days after my birthday, yay 😑) due to a cancer.
Now your dad must be at least 60 or even 70, so I was wondering, how does he feel about it ? I'm certain the pain is still here, but I'd like to know what will happen when I get older. How do you feel 50 years later ? That's a question that I'm not able to answer, but an old, wise man like your dad could maybe answer it for me. Could you ask him, please ?
Since I'm not american or English, I don't really know how to say it... So I'm sorry if what I said could hurt anyone...
You don't have to do that but I'd be grateful if you ask him. Thanks.
PS : thank your dad for his service in 'Nam. I read how he saved some LRRPs and I honestly think he did a quite heroic job there.

  • Let's Play Taboo! 4.8 years ago

The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't.
In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was.
The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.
