@Haytham115
I... I do not right now
I'm currently working on a Rafale (slowly) but contact me if you have discord (dark_chilli_choccies#7069) and we can discuss the Heli there
@JuanNotAnAlt a lot of what the mods do is behind the scenes. you can go to a mods page (any mod, literally at all) and if you select 'comments' you will see MASSES of stuff. Vincent is now kinda filling the void that ED has left (edit: I think), but I'm pretty sure all of the mods are relatively active, even if not publicly so
@JuanNotAnAlt i don't know, in this scenario its hard to say 'we made a mistake, although he did this thing he should be allowed back because he is special to the website'. I think that would put him in more bother, because it leaves the mods and devs with little power over what happens with the website (as the power has been effectively handed to those who make the most noise)
While you are right, let's remember that this is a plane game and many people (like myself, the maker of one such mig-21) make things because they want to, they are not under any obligation to make different things just because a few people are fed up with them.
I mean if you don't like it, make a Sh-Tandem lmao
@Rodrigo110 he was kinda forced to act, it became a public issue.
And that's the problem with cancel culture, which you now appear to be attempting to practise on Andrew
@Karzigg the issue that the team had was that they were put in an impossible position. ED probably broke one of the rules as a mod with this so regardless of circumstance, (given it was reported) it puts them in a difficult position where they can't brush it under the rug. They were forced to act due to cancel culture, which is the sickest thing about it
@Karzigg woah that's a lot to unpack.
The dev team were trapped in this scenario by cancel culture. But tbf I know of not a single feature of simpleplanes that wasn't asked for beyond the actual base game. (And I really can't tell if that stuff about Afghanistan you said there is supposed to be a joke or not lmao)
@Mostly a few of the discord servers are now taking up a no nonsense policy on unnecessary snitching and cancel culture which is an improvement, and I think the website should start too
@HelloHelloTheUnt so far one person has tried, but on the whole everyone has taken the attitude of saluting a fallen soldier, which I would argue is testament to the strength of the core, and the vast majority, of this community.
@TheEnglishPanzer worst thing is, knowing some of the members in this community, there is a not-insignificant chance that the person who reported this is just trying to suck up to Andrew to try and make themselves mod, I have seen it done before. The sad part is that Andrew may have had little choice about the matter :(
@WolfSpark there was a comedian on Michael McIntyre's comedy roadshow who focussed part of their piece on being offended. I shall always remember this quote: "well it's not like 'oh someone made a joke, and I was offended, and the next morning I woke up and I had LEPROSY' "
@RC1138Boss @Roswell when someone has such powers, it's difficult to be lenient - because regardless of how well they do their job, you can't risk having a nasty person with that power for fear of a scandal of some kind. Andrew likely took a chance and regardless of whether eternal was or wasn't a bad person, it was the right decision in my mind.
(@Karzigg gonna tag you here too)
THEY WHAT
It's the danger of making jokes at this point I guess, everything will offend someone (that's the nature of a sense of humour after all) and it could have happened to anyone... But it had to be someone I suppose, and it sounds like you took it well at least.
You had a good run, and godspeed sir. I will miss asking you to make my builds successor to things
@nicholas1106 because of the way scripts are in unity, it's physically impossible I think. It's impossible to interpret scripts if there is no way to do it. Also, games never want to lose such a big and highly used feature so I would be sure that they would have tried almost everything in their power to get android mods working in the 1.9 update but alas. (Also stop being an ass to other players, not cool and not nice)
I would love to see an addition to ft involving interaction with other parts. I.E to be able to take the output of one part and use it as an input for another, which would make some ft code faster and add functionality to others, and could also be added to wheels to show current rotation, as with engines, to show rpm which would be a very nice addition to those like myself who like their custom cockpits to have accurate and correct functionality. (Syntax could be Output([PartID]) for example).
Another extractable value could be part health, allowing creation of ejection seats or warning lights, for example when an engine fails or when the tail of the aircraft is removed. (Syntax could be Health([PartID]) for example)
@jaynnie071621 Unfortunately I haven't been very clever with part saving on this build, so it's difficult. However this version (776 parts, listed in the description of this build) runs like a 500 part build. Can't get it lower unfortunately, but if it runs bad try reducing graphics. I have tested it on a Samsung A10 and a Moto g6 play so I know this runs on some lower end mobile devices; it runs very well on my Moto g7 power, with low graphics and high physics :)
@Krmo top speed is tuned to about 35000ft, g pull is relatively accurate as to the maximum airframe stress (usually 1.5x the rated maximum set by the manufacturer)
code i used for control surfaces was this: clamp([control input],(-1)+(IAS/[just over max speed in m/s]),1-(IAS/[just over max speed in m/s])), which limits control rotation as speed increases, acting as an extremely rudimentary control lock or g limiter. on the rear I stacked it up a few times making some looooong codes, but you can use this if you like :)
(mate, if you need to vent at someone,
dark_chilli_choccies#7069
- me - is available)may not know how to respond, but i will be listening
Hey ED, SPCS has recently hit 400 members, if you don't mind updating that section of the description :)
thanks

Oh my holy that's insane
+1@JustLookingForFriends he probably took it as a form of hate speech, and was probably still getting to grips with the system ¯_(ツ)_/¯
@MRpingouin 19 upvotes is nothing to laugh at lmao
19 is pretty good
@Haytham115 on my list, but I think its slightly more difficult due to a more complex shape and fewer schematics so it might not have a cockpit
@Captain247 sometimes I see them as a challenge (like my 262): how much can I outclass everyone on this build?

Dr Strange
@Wogchamp (if the new mod, whenever one is selected, is a member none of us have heard of, I would hazard a guess that its them)
@CoolPeach well said, put better than I could have done :)

@Sharkexen for context this is massively controversial given how long ED has served as a mod and how brilliant he has been
+1@BaconEggs yup :'(
+2@Mostly a few of the discord servers are now taking up a no nonsense policy on unnecessary snitching and cancel culture which is an improvement, and I think the website should start too
+1@Gluck if we are super unlucky we might get prengt, or even pregananant

+2@EternalDarkness well you had a good run at it, but being cancelled is always the danger with having a sense of humour :(

Edit: (Andrew proceeds to upvote the post)
+6Ju-88 is by far my favourite aircraft I love it
+1You wouldn't download a ypperlig
@Sharkexen I'm referring to the shape of the fuselage
(It's a compliment, I love the Sh-Tandem :D)
MAI Sh-Tandem if it were a dive bomber
Could we have an option for them to be backlit potentially? Would make for some nice MFDs :)

Some recommended assets would be good if it isn't too much trouble :)
unfortunately thats the only one I could find on github in my brief search just now, am busy but I can try send a copy here for you in a while
it's the
Mother Fokker
(Also T)
+1@KnightOfRen aha thanks
@jaynnie071621 yeah, you need to be very gentle with it xD
It does self-right in roll though which can help
@Vincent_
How might we go about submitting? I think part of the problem was that we didn't really know...
Also congrats on becoming mod, they definitely made the right choice
