actually the opposite. The way a submarine is controlled is based on the principles of the zeppelin. Fun fact, the USS Albacore's officers had to take blimp flight lessons to give them a better understanding of the newly (for the time) introduced control systems
@ChrisPy i will try my best to explain but i am not entirely familiar with it either, i am just trying to help.
in the attribute PID( [thing we want it to do] e.x keep AngleOfAttack>0, [when does it take effect] e.x when AngleOfAttack<0, Proportional attribue (makes the plane jumpy), Intergnal atribute (speed of the correction), Derivative: smoothness of the correction (less jumpy but cant be used on its own)
E.x code : clamp01PID( AngleOfAttack>0, rate(AngleOfAttack<0, 1, 0, 1)
the one i used in my yak for the vtol
you should work more on the flight model. I suggest you increase throttle range in order to reduce its acceleration while also reducing the drag via xml. Aditionally a good idea would be to keep the wing loading realistic if you want an acceptable flight behaviour.
Custom control surfaces would have been also nice
