Hi everyone,
.
This forum post is part of my next upload's technical documentation. As of posting this comment, the build has not been released. You can find the teaser here.
Don’t worry about deserving points. They’re inconsequential after all. If you believe that you have an abnormally large follower base, then it might be a good time to take some risks. Now may be the time to expand your building styles, or expand upon the skills you already have. Create a masterpiece! Or just continue to have fun. Congrats anyway!
The tiers were an excellent decision. There were many awesome entries, so I am glad to see that their creators received rewards too! If applicable for me (I was unsure if 3rd got a key or not), I would like the SP key. I have a few friends that would enjoy SP.
For me, upvotes only facilitate what I actually want from posting a build. Upvotes generally help visibility, which means more feedback (comments) and downloads. It is amazing to see that a good amount of people consistently take the time out of their day to download my builds, and provide feedback accordingly!
I love everything about the presentation of this build, which is, in itself, beautiful. I have yet to download it, but the effort put into the description alone deserves a spotlight.
It would probably be a good idea to change the title to reflect the content of the forum post. That way, users that are eager to help will click on the post based on the title.
Upvote droughts happen for everyone. In your case, it looks like the screenshots are to blame. They look good, but I cannot see the aircraft clearly. People usually upvote for how good your design looks (superficial, I know), so it is important to highlight the features of your build in the screenshots.
It's unfortunate that the car didn't get as much feedback as you anticipated. However, I would not attribute that to part count. Instead, look at other factors. For example, the designer background you used, in my opinion, could make the screenshots visually confusing. I should probably add, too, that in a community of aviation enthusiasts, a 60s F1 racecar might not pique everyone's interest.
If this is about tide pods, then you should probably be informed that it was never a trend to eat or drink laundry detergent. The joke is that no sane person would eat or drink laundry detergent.... and somehow a good amount of people forgot that the jokes are ironic, and decided to bite down on tide pods for a little bit of internet fame.
I respect SledDriver's skills and style, but I am fairly certain that he will lose momentum. That sort of thing happens when you stick to the same style without the slightest bit of deviation. People get bored, and move on. I know this from experience.
[EDIT]: "without the slightest bit of deviation" is a bit harsh here, and doesn't really reflect my views on SledDriver's designs. There is deviation. However, if it is easy for me to make that unfair characterization, then it is certain that others have made that unfair characterization too.
I definitely see some good improvements. Perhaps the most notable to me, at least, was sidestepping the disappearance of the fireguns button, since I had not thought of a solution to that problem (which I had experienced a good amount). The rest of the functionalities look good for designing more combat options, which is always a fun endeavor. Hopefully my response is adequate, since my brain is soup these days lol
@Sadboye12 And thank you! Now of course there are no promises, but I haven’t necessarily “quit” for good. Just an indefinite hiatus from building. I may make something, sometime, though I don’t see that happening too soon
Depends if the player has an established reputation or not. Many golds have a reputation of high quality equal to that of plats.
+3Very cool. Bad screenshots don’t give it the attention it needs - hopefully a spotlight will help!
+3Yeah, so they don’t moderate every curse word, but this time they moderated your curse word. Maybe just don’t drop f-bombs next time.
+3Makes sense. In math, ♾ • 0 is indeterminate. Given that a computer is basically a math-solver, I can see why the game bugged out.
+3Ah, nostalgia.

Yeah. This is really cool. Having SP on YouTube is always nice.
+3Lots of parts there. Looks cool though!
+3🍆
+3@Veronica No problem. It seems like many challenges these days disallow futuristic entries for no reason, so your challenge was a refreshing one!
+3Hi everyone,
+3.

The rock scene is pretty good today imo. There's some great bands out there.

+3Looks quite nice. I like the details, though the overall shape seems too boxy for my taste. Regardless, it's great, and deserves a spotlight.
+3I haven't seen a barrel design like that! I should take a few notes.

+3Screenshots seem to be the problem. Also, try to make your liveries a little more vibrant!
+35 looks like an enormous project. That would be cool to see! Although it would probably be best to finish the rest first.
+3@HarryBen47 Thanks! Your design has good looks, and feels almost weightless in flight. Here are some recommendations:
If possible, I would recommend setting disableCollisions to true on the guns (I onetime hit myself - not sure how).
More pitch maneuverability and less responsive roll would make it a little more fun (for me) to fly
If you are up to the task, adding panel lines or other miscellaneous details would make it look really, really good.
Nice. I would guess that the fox decal itself has as much parts as an entire plane made by me. Impressive!
+3The green slime color scheme is the superior color scheme.
+3Change my mind.
Nice work. My only criticism is that I can’t see the car very well in the screenshots.
+3It’s great to see another build from you! As usual, it looks beautiful.
+3It would probably be a good idea to change the title to reflect the content of the forum post. That way, users that are eager to help will click on the post based on the title.
+3I don’t really build fictional to RP - I just do it because I like the freedom to design whatever I want.
+3@ThomasRoderick It’s fun to deviate, for sure, and yes, the form fits the function here!

+3Clean design and wonderful presentation. You posted at an odd time - perhaps a spotlight will help with that.
+3The back looks great!
+3@Chancey21 @Potato21 @Countache27 Thank you! I am proud of this heli, so I am glad that you like it too.
+3Most cars have some defects that make them look awkward. This build is an exception to that norm. Excellent work! Smooth and expertly modeled.
+3@AWESOMENESS360 Thanks! I always try to minimize my part counts. That way, more people can fly my planes.
+3It's a part of history that would be dangerous to ignore, so as long as no one is praising nazi ideology, then I'm fine with seeing nazi planes.

+3I'm going out to the corner store to get a few beers. Anyone want anything?
+2Compare the macros and the decision will make itself.
+2@Mousewithamachinegun123 @DISHWASHER2005 @TTL Thank you! It was fun to build them, though I don't plan to build much in the future.
+2I can't believe that I missed this. Crazy!
+2@TheTomatoLover That may be from the description! Using images as headers is something that I did a lot.
As for the build itself, great work! I'm glad that my code was useful to you.

+2Arcade, because I suck at flying. Besides, it gives me an opportunity to apply some funny math to SP
+2Not sure how I just found your account. Hopefully my spam over the last few minutes will make up for that :)
+2@TheTomatoLover Thank you! Life is good. I don’t have enough time to build these days, but I do lurk on the site still :)

+2car
+2@IICXLVIICDLXXXIIIDCXLVII I was lazy lol
