@ToasterBath420 Ty! For some reason when I optimized the drone controls they did not carry over very well to the build. Not sure why it didn’t work, but definitely something to learn from
@Chancey21 Ty! Unfortunately that delay is quite difficult to effectively get around, as all user inputs (pitch, roll, yaw) take a little time to reach their desired value. It seems like SP has them automatically smoothed.
@ThomasRoderick Yeah, the code is definitely long. I started with a simple case for user input, then added an angular speed control, that combined with the sensitivity control. After a few extra debug cases, I added a few bandaids that made the code quite lengthy. While lengthy, I personally like my method as it lets me determine pitch/roll/yaw rates directly within my code. Of course I know more now, so a future iteration would be less spaghetti-like, so ty for the feedback!
I’m sure you understand the pain that comes with balancing thrust, especially without any lifting surfaces. Ultimately this was the best I could get! Ty for the feedback tho
@ThomasRoderick Probably it would be a social democracy (think the Nordic model), or at most a tame form of market socialism. My intention was not for the Worker’s Republic to be authoritarian, as that story is old and overdone by now. That, and I’m personally not a fan of authoritarianism lol, though I am certainly in favor of properly implemented social spending!
Great to hear! PC is much more robust than iOS. I can’t wait to see what you create! Given your already high level of quality, I am sure that your next build will be quite nice.
.
As for mods, upload with screenshots is a nice one, unless if you somehow have access to a custom thumbnail mod. I’m not sure how custom thumbnail mods work - mine is a really barebones and awful thing to work with.
@PapaKernels Actually, quite a few people enjoy reading (or at least skimming) my longform content. If you check out my more recent builds, you will notice that they come with technical documentation (that is much more dense than this post) that people seem to appreciate.
.
Note that this manual is by no means a list of controls. That is what a description is for. Also note that most of my builds use novel control systems that require additional explanation.
.
Most importantly, I had fun making this. My (temporary foster) cat was laying in my lap, and playing games would disturb her - my solution was to quickly whip up this supplementary manual.
@Sm10684 Ty! This instruction manual gives a more in-depth explanation of some stuff. Of course, the description of the build itself will have a more shorthand list of controls.
@PapaKernels Thanks for the response! Good take too. Ultimately the result should be a more robust (rehabilitative) and fair justice system IMO, which is more or less what you are describing. As for the “defund the police” slogan, it was pretty bad for optics, but really just meant that some (not all) funds should be reallocated to other programs that have been shown to reduce crime without putting desperate people behind bars. Anyway that’s all I’ll say, since whatever disagreements we may have are most likely within nuanced details :)
@IceCraftGaming Depends on the situation. It is quite useful for destroying the beast fleet.
+1@Alpha6 Nice!
+1@BeastHunter Messing around lmao
+1Nice part efficiency!
+1Tire probably blew out
+1No problem! All jokes aside, it looks awesome.
+1@MinWiii NOTAR systems still require a tail to house an internal fan.
+1@pitia Thank you!

+1@DwiAngkasaAeronautics No problem! I’m happy to help
+1Never try rum. It turned me into a pirate.
+1Good lord, this thing is beautiful.
+1Yes. Use Throttle > 0.9 for your input.
+1@ThomasRoderick Ty for the tag - I'll leave an upvote :)
+1This looks fun! Too bad that I will probably be much too busy in the coming months
+1@Valheru It’s a busy semester, so I don’t have any projects rn. We’ll see what happens during summer!
+1@GalaxyMustache I am unfamiliar with the installation process on mobile devices. Sorry
+1Ooooh, very nice.
Might as well leave a shameless plug.
+1I am #5

If I remember my physics right, the relationship is probably on the 5th power
+1@ThomasRoderick Yeah lol
+1@ThomasRoderick Depends on the orbit. If I remember right, that sort of delta-V is alright for a higher orbit.
+1@ThomasRoderick Yeah - there's a reason why I have never used this weapon lol
+1Oh! yeah I like that. I think I designed the extra heat as a sort of nerf to the flak guns.
+1@ThomasRoderick lmao yeah - something like this gun would probably be better with some FT code
+1Love the style!
+1Perhaps whatever option is heavy, since this looks like a heavier combat aircraft
+1I like rockets tbh
+1Hot. Good to see another build from you!
+1Not sure if I can help at this time. Sorry!
+1This comment section passed the vibe check. 100% agree with everyone here
+1@KnightOfRen Literally nothing lmao. Just ppl manufacturing drama as usual
+1@Tums Ty! The nearly-hidden landing skids were my only option for a build like this.
+1@Chancey21 Ty! Unfortunately that delay is quite difficult to effectively get around, as all user inputs (pitch, roll, yaw) take a little time to reach their desired value. It seems like SP has them automatically smoothed.
+1@ThomasRoderick I made em high-yield by design. Fun factor. But yeah, I think adding a trim gyro would have helped me a lot

+1@UraniumOxide Ty! I tried to pack a lot of functionality in this little plane.
+1@ThomasRoderick Ty! I was going for that sort of vibe, though I play Elite Dangerous instead of Star Citizen. Both look really cool tho
+1@goboygo1 I try to be efficient that way :)
+1@idk201011323 No problem! If I make a build that requires a turret, then I will include one!
+1@BusterShortWolf Ty! I was going for that sort of vibe
+1@Eventotaku Ty! I tried to keep the part count low on this one.

@EliteArsenals24 Ty! Likewise for your builds :)
+1@Sm10684 Yep! The pdf itself was directly exported from PowerPoint. I also use Krita to greenscreen pictures of my builds.

+1@BigBigTheMac Part count is 597, so performance will vary based on your device. Release date is TBD
