Not bad for your first try, but I highly advise you to add a tail/nose wheel to it so you can take back off if you have already landed once. In other aspects, it's airworthy so... It's one true SimplePlane, which I actually like, my PC can't handle high-part count monstrosities, and testing something new is always fun. I did my first flight with it from takeoff to landing and stopping successfully :D
@Freerider2142 Yea people don't get that they shud use mobile friendly builds here, small and low part count, otherwise they just ruin the fun of others :/
Nice one, I like it. (It looks like if the P-38's engines were replaced with a single jet engine because the US missed the 38 in the cold war even. lol)
Now to talk about flight performance:
Its pretty good weight distribution finds a good balance between maneuverability and stability. However, lucky not to have too much drag and heating caused by it in SimplePlanes, the concrete runway would grind that engine off very quickly. Move the rear gears backwards a bit so that the plane doesn't "sit down" when it's on ground. It will make takeoffs a lot safer.
If you shoot at an aircraft with machineguns, yeah, they set it on fire, but it doesn't actually take damage, due to the way the multiplayer server is handling the aircraft of separate players - one plane is treated like if it was made of one single part, so that you can't break stuff off of them legitimately. It sucks for sure, (since guns don't work in multiplayer this way) but it's for optimization - some players take out their f*cking high part count crafts instead of using simple "mobile-friendly" things in the multiplayer room. I really hope it will change once, as only shooting with missiles is not necessarily as fun and challenging as having to aim correctly to rip the wing off of your enemy.
@ssenmodnar You sure could ;D
If you want to make a mobile-friendly version, you can just do that too and make it a subassembly for example. Just remember to have the chute and the detacher on the same action group I guess...
@Ooflauncher1 Not really. Why the devs still didn't give us an ammo limiter thing already that actually works is beyond me tho... ammoCount is a completely dysfunctional xml variable. Either way, this thing we have here is nice.
@Deandash With respect, I'd say you're wrong on that. There is already an option to just not sync weapon explosions, so I bet weapon damage altogether could be on a tickbox option if it ever gets implemented. If you genuinely just wanna fly peacefully and have a stupid griefer shooting you down regardless, you could just turn weapon damage off.
Besides, people can already grief intentionally or unknowingly, by using high partcount vehicles in public servers so it's not like weapons damage would be the one thing that adds griefing as a byproduct. Right at the moment I'm writing this, I cannot join a server because some highly intelligent being is showing off his 6000 parts Boeing 787 lagging everyone to heck... (Please everyone, use small n simple designs so more people can join...)
One could argue, weapons damage being enabled would even be a way to delete these laggers at least.
Works great but will we ever get to have stuff like wing gun n other unguided weapon damage registering on the client's side who's being hit by the other player? Dogfights would be amazingly fun but not weapon damage apart from missiles (and bombs if the target player is on the ground and the bomb hits the ground close enough) registers.
@Plooperman Hey, I got back to SP for a bit, and I made a new version. Be sure to check it out, the vector thrusters on it also aid in roll, not just pitch, making turns actually possible with much less pain.
@Plooperman Oh also, hope the actual VTOL slider control is not working, as it isn't meant to... The VTOLs are meant to be controlled by pitch only. And uhh... Yea you might not be able to control it too well if your controls are the default keyboard controls. Buttons don't allow for precision in flight, which though is something I personally find very important in flight sims, so I use my custom mouse controls. But the best is to have a joystick.
@Ploooperman Yeah, but it's already better than it was when I was only using the VTOL nozzles... Now I have 4 engines actually, 2 main ones providing most of the thrust and the vtols giving smaller thrust to wherever it needs to be aimed at. Having only xml boosted vtol nozzles, when you overpulled at slow/moderate speed caused the aircraft to spin then get ripped apart by overstress. I'm not yet sure how to make this even better, but I'll keep testing. Thanks for the feedback!
@Ploooperman Haha yeah funny enough they do target them and not the plane XD
Well, use the countermeasures to escape missiles, the ejection seat is still great to save the pilot from wing fires that could cause the missiles to detonate - though you can save the plane in that case with AG5 that discards them all at once (sorry I didn't update the functions list earlier) or when you stall it out in an altitude way too low to recover, or get a critical damage, etc.
@PotatopcsGamer Can handle... Does it also run well? Or, can you also spawn another plane with it? Because then it's probably a bit faster than average phone you have.
@AntiSocialTaco Yea, this ain't. Or barely if is mobile-friendly. Anything with so many "useless", decorative parts is no good for weak stuff like an average mobile or even laptop. Still a cool looking design tho.
@Yoyoyooo I really wish to, but I think I'll have to share you guys another cargo called C-500 Nebulon, that features a jeep as cargo instead of a tank and is somewhat smaller with 2 engines instead of 4. It was made way before I had this no fuel mod, meaning that it does not use anything more than the vanilla game to this day. Or, I can post the modless version of this C-600, the only thing it will have to lack is the ability for the tank cannon to fire, but the plane and the vehicle will move as intended. As I have posted all 3 vehicles of this day's limit, tomorrow (if I have time) you'll see the alternative for mobile users :D
@Sean21 The Hellkeska is an ingame Su-24 copy, just search for a picture of it. Just like how the Wasp is an F-18 Superhornet replica. Anyways, what you might see as the point, it indeed is flying nicely.
By looks, it's pretty much like a stuka indeed, so that's a good point. But to be honest, I wouldn't even try to fly this design in reality - unless I'm really bored of my life - as long as you don't give it an elevator (horizontal stabilizer) so that it can pitch even, not just roll and yaw. I reckon it can't take off from the ground in its current state, can it?
If you'd like to improve, I recommend you to test your vehicles after each significant modification and polish them as well as you can, not just say, "It seems kinda like a plane so it must be ok"...
Well, I made a simple back turret subassembly, put it on a bomber, made the bomber so it has a strong (XML edited) gyro that's always on and no control surfaces, so it keeps flying straight. Then I set my turret controls to pitch n roll, then put a small cockpit onto my turret. Now I have a big headache why I'm not being fired at by that damn AI when I fly behind it it with my fighter, even tho I "stupided" every single thing down for that Artifical Idiot's level... :/
If it's done with a static object like an AI flak gun, it kinda does work so... Idk, this sucks. So yep, it'd be really useful to have different modes for AI: gunner, fighter plane (what we have now), bomber plane and helicopter... AI Choppers cannot fly at all either.

+4The bulletproof plate just isn't bulletproof (anymore?)... The idea is very good tho...
+4Great stuff, but the sound flicker is really annoying, I'm really looking forward to that fix...
+4@Freerider2142 Yea people don't get that they shud use mobile friendly builds here, small and low part count, otherwise they just ruin the fun of others :/
+2@weaponizedbathtub Oh shoot thanks lol I just checked and it seems to still work! :D
+1@weaponizedbathtub Too bad...
+1Uhh... now this is 2022... I just can't seem to find a single server still running :/
+1@Lake Yeah, on the upside it will never lag you in the slightest :D
+1Nice one, I like it. (It looks like if the P-38's engines were replaced with a single jet engine because the US missed the 38 in the cold war even. lol)

+1This mod could be great but it's bugged like hell, and it's just hard to get a cam set properly when I switch to another target.
+1@VChart Left Mouse Button and Middle Mouse Button (when you click the scroll wheel instead of rolling it...)
+1Can you please adapt this to the new 1.9 update? As now there's IAS, TAS and Ground Speed, the mod doesn't seem to "like it"...
+1@ssenmodnar You sure could ;D

@Misterpotato That's not it. I did have it as such, still, it didn't work, the AI was just comfused.
@VTPADELTA Lmao that's the real deal

@HellFireKoder Got it, thanks for the reply!

@weaponizedbathtub Oh hey, I only saw this 2 months later lol. I'll check if 160.251 is still working, thanks however it is.
Lol so high part count lagging everyone tf out is fine?
@JovianPat Ya know, custom spawn points exist. Not like hogging the runway isn't retarded, but if people are dumb, find a way to ignore em.
Hey everyone, check out the latest version, the F-25C. This variant is very obsolete, that new one has much better maneuverability.
@Plooperman Hey, I got back to SP for a bit, and I made a new version. Be sure to check it out, the vector thrusters on it also aid in roll, not just pitch, making turns actually possible with much less pain.
@MrsPizzaschnitzel Possibly the most ridiculous of all my creations, but I'm glad you're having fun! Thanks.

AG1 - Carpet Bombing
AG2 - Activate Turrets
AG3 - Tail Hook
There you go.
Good for making it a sub-assembly, just put on ships, set the AG and go! lol
A controls overhaul is coming for this craft, making steering much faster and even possible to do in place!
@Ploooperman Yeah, but it's already better than it was when I was only using the VTOL nozzles... @Yoyoyooo Hope you mean Stall Recovery, otherwise SimplePlanes is drunk XD
The part with removing nosecone drag is pretty clever, it shouldn't at all be that high in the vanilla game either.
@PotatopcsGamer Can handle... Does it also run well? Or, can you also spawn another plane with it? Because then it's probably a bit faster than average phone you have.
@Yoyoyooo Sure, have fun :D
@AntiSocialTaco Yea, this ain't. Or barely if is mobile-friendly. Anything with so many "useless", decorative parts is no good for weak stuff like an average mobile or even laptop. Still a cool looking design tho.
@Yoyoyooo Alright, tomorrow I'll send both I think.

I just discovered that the rockets were put too close together, making them detonate and destroy the plane on launch. A fix is coming soon...
It looks like a simple "Hellkeska" or the Su-24 it was based on.
Nice one, I'd call it a heavy fighter.
@sjoerdje Thanks :D
@Flightsimulator Oh I see now :D
By looks, it's pretty much like a stuka indeed, so that's a good point. @WNP78 Ah thank you for helping me notice that it's now just in the settings... lol
Amazing how many cool mods you guys just put into the game :D
