  • Yakovlev Yak-38 U 7.4 years ago

Many thanks to all who upvoted! I know she isnt perfect, but I hope she fun to fly?

Has anyone managed a vertical deck landing yet?

  • Planet Express Ship - Futurama 7.4 years ago

Ah. The good ship Planet Express Ship. Beautiful and Deadly.

    Just like her captain.

She'll come crawling back to me like a bird on her belly. Mmmmm. Delicious.

Oh god I miss being a student with the time to sit and watch Futurama all day long... great job!

  • SUPREME LEADER 7.4 years ago

I like it. But the Kim head isnt nearly jowely enough. It needs bigger jowels. Like an obese Basset Hound, only jowelier.

  • Breguet Atlantic 7.4 years ago

Awesome stuff. Congrats on making gold, too. Many happy returns, so on and so forth.

  • Lightning mk6 1.8 7.4 years ago

    Very nice.

  • BAe Harrier GR.7 AI friendly 7.4 years ago

No particular reason. It just felt right there and then. @ForeverPie

  • De Haviland Dash 7 7.4 years ago

Very nice model of an under represented type. Top drawer, old boy, top drawer.

  • Handley Page Victor (With Blue Steel) 7.4 years ago

@Tang0five Youre welcome. I think it might be the best thing you've done so far.

  • Handley Page Victor (With Blue Steel) 7.4 years ago

Christ on a bike that is bloody lovely.

  • BAe Harrier GR.7 AI friendly 7.4 years ago

@gareth1234 Mr Pie was asking Mr Garrison (fine gent that he is) to make this one of the four featured thingies at the top of the SimplePlanes home page. I like this idea. But then again I am biased...

  • Gloster Javelin FAW.9 1.4 7.4 years ago

You know that kids respond well to bright colours, right?

  • BAe Harrier GRX 7.4 years ago

I know, right? @Tang0five The Yanks are also now finding that the 6000 operating hour limit on their AV-8B Harrier II + airframes is actually bloody conservative and they could potentially do 10,000+...The MOD actually scrapped perfectly good aeroplanes that could even have been sold to the USMC for bits... Or, you know, could have been kept in service? Eejits.

BTW, I think it fits nicely with the BAe Whirlwind ADVANCE (https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/201LMK/BAE-Whirlwind-ADVANCE) I built a while back, dont you?

  • BAe Harrier GRX 7.4 years ago

Thanks. I went for wow effect rather than realism there... @rubenisapilot

  • BAe Harrier GR.7 7.4 years ago

    Running all the way... ;-)@Tang0five

  • McDonnell Douglas A-4P Skyhawk (FAA) 7.4 years ago

Just realised that I never upvoted this. It is very, very nice.

  • BAe Harrier GR.7 7.4 years ago

    Im not totally sure how multi player works either, but that would be great fun. Although... Scooter vs Shar... Your flight plan would look like;
    1. Take off
    2. Gear up
    3. Explode...

That said, youre an actual pilot and Im just some guy... might be a fun fight?@ChiChiWerx

  • BAe Harrier GR.7 7.4 years ago

@ChiChiWerx Ive been working with a download called the "XML cheat bench". It is a collection of parts that you cant get without mods, weightless parts, no clip parts and very very small bits etc. But 1.7 on iOS is going to rock, no doubt.

  • BAe Harrier GR.7 7.4 years ago

    I know! Sea Harrier FRS.1 next!! @ChiChiWerx

  • Hawker Siddeley Harrier GR.3 7.4 years ago

Featured? Featured! Im very happy you all like this - it took a wee while to build & keep mobile friendly.

    Thanks to all!

Hope you all like the GR.7 as much... ;-)

    +1
  • Hawker Siddeley Harrier GR.3 7.4 years ago

Because the Yanks and their marvelous F-35 was going to save the universe, apparently. Thanks, btw ;-) @Tang0five

No offence to our trans atlantic chums, I would hasten to add. You guys gave us Gene Simmonds, Alice Cooper, Springstein and Ice Cube, so youre ok with me.

  • Handley Page Victor 'Teasin Tina' 7.4 years ago

To quote Shakin Stevens; Lovely Stuff!

  • Bomber challenge Avro Vulcan 7.4 years ago

Top drawer old boy! Cant wait! @Tang0five

  • Hawker Siddeley Harrier GR.1 7.4 years ago

Nope. Have you tried it? @AudioDud3

  • Hawker Siddeley Harrier GR.1 7.4 years ago

Not sure what you mean? It has all four contact points; nose and wings controlled by ag2 plus vtol and main by the default gear control. @AudioDud3

  • Blackburn Firebrand 7.5 years ago

I remember having a "discussion" on the wikipedia talk page for the Firebrand - some eejit tried to tell me it wasn't comparable to the Sea Fury (in terms of role, era etc)... Oh what fun we had that day.

    Very cool.

  • Short Mayo Composite 7.5 years ago

Christ almighty - browsing through your post history is like looking at my "to do list" - except you've already done it! Very nice.

  • Bomber challenge Avro Vulcan 7.5 years ago

Cant believe I have overlooked this for so long. Bloody lovely!
Also - arse over tit! Haven't heard that phrase in a long time.

  • XPLANE Challenge! [CLOSED!] 7.5 years ago

@Franticmatty I would also like to enter my Short SC.1 - it is pretty experimental.

  • XPLANE Challenge! [CLOSED!] 7.5 years ago

@Franticmatty it is mobile friendly (so low on detail), but will you accept my Hawker Siddeley Kestrel?

  • Hawker Siddeley Harrier GR.1 7.5 years ago

    @JettStorm Thanks!

  • Hawker Siddeley P.1127 7.5 years ago

@Tang0five Cheers matey. I have now posted the instructions too. Have fun!

  • WW2 Challenge Supermarine Sea Salamander FGR.1b 7.5 years ago

@Tang0five Cheers. The bumps are to hide the guns - the wings have a tiny wee bit dihedral and the guns just would not clip nicely into the wing panels. No matter how much or nicely I swore at them.
Well spotted on the landing gear. I was thinking the same thing, but the two engines clipped together in the nose make her quite nose heavy. Fixing that and making her a tail dragger would have meant I would need to move the centre of lift, placing the wings further back, making it difficult to place the main gear in front of the centre of mass... Designing simple planes is quite complex, when you think about it.

  • WW2 Challenge Supermarine Spectre NF.5b 7.5 years ago

Nope, Im from Scotland, but living in Norway. I like Russian stuff too; especially the Cold War stuff. I thought that with a name like Mikoyanster you might be?

  • WW2 Challenge Supermarine Spectre NF.5b 7.5 years ago

    Spasiba, @mikoyanster

  • Grumman F9F Cougar 1.4 7.5 years ago

I figured that this wasnt just a coincidence... Nice model, though.
Now, since you mention it, my Gloster Javelin is way better than this...blah blah better weapons... blah blah no upvotes... blah blah cockpit blah blah...
Now you can get to work ;-)
    @RamboJutter

  • Grumman F9F Cougar 1.4 7.5 years ago

Upvoted, spotlighted, hat off, nod, wink, so on and so forth. Bloody lovely job.

  • WW2 Challenge Supermarine Spectre NF.5a 7.5 years ago

Thanks for getting back to me. Will do. @mikoyanster

  • WW2 Challenge Supermarine Spectre NF.5a 7.5 years ago

Is it the use of standard weapons? Ive made a new version, using the supplied guns, but Im not willing to play a game of "guess the transgression", and upload something that is going to be rejected again, so can you let me know if Im right? @mikoyanster

  • Blohm und Voss P.3211a/b "Adlerhorst und Schlüpfen" 7.5 years ago

It was built on an iPhone6, so it might run for you? Thanks, by the way. @Tang0five

  • WW2 Challenge Supermarine Spectre NF.5a 7.5 years ago

    Ok. Which ones? @mikoyanster

  • WW2 Challenge Supermarine Spectre NF.5a 7.5 years ago

    @Treadmill103
    @Tang0five
    Many thanks, gents.

  • Lightning mk1a XM178 "Firebird" 7.5 years ago

This is a very, very, very (very) good build. Lovely stuff! @RamboJutter

  • Lightning mk1a XM178 "Firebird" 7.5 years ago

@asg I am not trying to be mean, but Your Cougar is not as polished as this Lightning.
To give you a quick critique; the shape is slightly off, the USN insignia are very large and blocky (try finding some slimmer ones) and the NAVY lettering doesnt follow the lines of the fuselage. It stands out like some sort of billboard. The cockpit is nice, but you downloaded that. Plus I dont think someone elses build is really the place to be airing your frustrations at not getting the upvotes you think you deserve.

  • Myasishchev with Grand Slams 7.5 years ago

More boom is a good thing.
