I'm like 99% sure that the criteria is just "get picked by the devs because they think you'll be a good fit" rather than any hard yes/no conditions based on activity, time on the site, whatever.
As far as builds go I haven't seen much of an uptick in the weird ones recently. To be sure, there are some weird ones, but they don't seem any more prevalent than before.
Has been tried a few times before. What happens is that someone decides to use the anonymity for nefarious purposes (whether spamming, slurs, or otherwise breaking the rules), and then it gets deleted.
Thank you for all the work and time you spent making this and keeping it updated over the years; it's really been an immensely valuable resource to a lot of people.
You can technically change properties of multiple parts at once with a text editor like Notepad++ but it's also not impossible to screw up the build in a big way by doing that.
Say this stuff on your main account, coward, or don't say it at all. This doesn't make you look "cool" or "hip" or whatever the middle schoolers want these days; it just makes you look emotionally unbalanced and hungry for any kind of attention. Behave.
If that's the issue you're having, one way to get around it is to stack multiple cannons in the same location, and then disable aircraft collisions via Overload on all but one of them (so they don't explode each other). Having the game alternate between multiple cannons seems to fix the problem since it can let one part finish playing the effect while the others start, or something to that effect.
For example, I've made an A-10 gun that uses five individual cannon parts clipped into each other to get the same fire rate as the actual GAU-8, and it works pretty well in terms of audio and everything.
Post it to Youtube (Unlisted works if you don't want it just to be public), then go to the Videos tab on this site and hit "Create", then follow the menus. You'll have to verify your channel, which should be a fairly simple process, and then you're good to go!
@Saleplouck If you set the fire rate really fast, the same thing happens. The game doesn't have time to play the effect before the next shot, so it just skips it.
I think it's at least somewhat framerate-dependent as to what point it stops doing the effects, but I don't know for certain. The way to fix it is to just decrease the fire rate until it works properly.
@YOURGORILLA1246 I really don't know how to explain it more clearly. You put the text you want to be visible in brackets, [like this], and then follow it with the URL you want to link to in parenthesis, like (https://www.simpleplanes.com). That's all there is to it.
It'll work but you'll be more limited in terms of maximum performance cost (i.e. part count). RAM isn't the only factor that influences this, but it's one of them.
If you plan to use the device (assuming a computer?) for anything other than mid-range SimplePlanes performance, get 16gb of RAM.
@Boeing727200F Someone made an alt and started spamming slurs in the comments of various posts this morning, and then was banned shortly thereafter. That's literally all that happened.
Why it's still getting this much attention is beyond me.
@LM0418 TL;DR middle schooler (probably) learns the funny bad word beginning with the letter N, proceeds to demonstrate their newfound ability with great enthusiasm
@IHateSimplePleyns Based on your comment history, your creator is going to be in deep trouble once they are identified. Of all the moves you could have made, this was not a wise one. Besides, if you really wanted to express anything, you wouldn't hide behind an alt.
Grow up.
Again, just... don't upvote it if you don't like it. They're internet points. They don't matter. Follower upvotes are annoying but again, they really don't matter.
If a plane breaks the rules, report it and the mods will take a look. That being said, you can't get upset at "no effort" builds. Just because a build doesn't meet your quality standards doesn't mean it should be removed.
The Newest page shows the newest stuff that's been posted, by both experienced builders and kids who just bought the game today. If you don't want to see the low effort stuff, don't sort by Newest.

Is it a mistake if you're planning to make it in advance, or is it simply a poor decision?
Also, obligatory Nuclear Option plug
ironically you forgot the furry

+1usually it's good to wait until after you finish building it first, though some people don't

That being said, this sounds like something that y'all need to deal with privately instead of spreading it across the forums.
This goes for both of you.

Watch your language. There are children here.
+1There should be a button under the aircraft selector when setting up a race to toggle whether or not your plane is flown by AI.
