@Jetpackturtle Most pilots did.
My favourites are 'Faith', 'Hope' and 'Charity'. The trio that helped defend Malta. Biplanes versus Modern Regia AND Luftwaffe aircraft. What wins?
I've reviewed my design and restarted work on it. Got the landing gear working again, just working on that (b!!!!!!) nose and cockpit, though I think I'll sack that off in favour of more details elsewhere.
@Sgtk This aircraft was going to be my entry, styled off of a BaE 146. You'll quickly see why I've canned it. Cant build a cockpit that looks right for it, custom gear didn't work right so I had to try and improvise with standard... the list goes on.
Deal me out on this one, in fact. My current attempt at an entry is 51 parts, and is utterly atrocious to look at and to fly.
I think I'm best sticking to... I don't know.
@communisticbanana Depends on class and era I guess: U VIIC subs were normally doing a maximum of 25kts submerged, while a modern RN Trafalgar or Astute-class sub can easily hit 50kts submerged. Depends on sub tasking too: Hunter-Killers e.g. Astute will invariably be quicker than purpose-built SSBNs or multi-role subs e.g. USN Los Angeles or Virginia-Class.
All of this information, gleaned from a single conversation in a bar which diverged onto how screwed dear Britain is if we poke the 'ol Bear too much... gulp
Deal me in @Sgtk but don't expect anything too fancy. I was just about to consider a Skylanes from Fallout 4, however they aren't regional. Not as far as I, a semi-educated aerogeek, can discern.
This thing lands so smoothly and I'd argue that without payload it doesn't even need the 'chutes.
I could land this at Bandit with an 160 approach speed and stop with runway to spare! Absolutely awesome build.
@Tang0five I just retested its handling. A Mig-15/17 "Fagot" could probably nail it in a maneuvering fight, but a comparable aircraft such as a '21 "Fishbed"? This would bone it all day long in a dogfight especially at close range!
@Treadmill103 Thanks! I had a few internal arguments over whether or not the handling was right, be it too fast or too slow, but apparently it seems to have worked!
@Geniuswaffel Yours was pretty good to begin with, and had some pretty quirky details e.g. the air intake under the fuselage. All I've really done is tweak it so that the airframe is no longer behaving as a Widowmaker. Congratulations should be to you :)
Rewards will be dealt with this week. And I believe the Top Gun awards finally got dealt with, sorry about the delay. Must have a few wires loose upstairs... bzzt ah, fixed.
LOOKS: It looks like an AC-130 on crack. Done the British way. 9/10
HANDLING: Leaves a little to be desired. Turning arc can be somewhat large even if attempting evasive flight, and its STOL can be hampered by the gyro. 17/20.
SURVIVABILITY: Reasonable. It has C/Meas and is more than capable of outflying some craft. However, I'd not n venturing it into got airspace unescorted. 7/10.
FUNCTIONALITY: All in order. Everything works as described. 9/10.
WEAPONS DELIVERY: Unique. No other pure gunships were entered making this adaption special. It can easily wipe the floor with ANYTHING. I think I screwed up though, I managed to blow the fuselage art of the wings off with the heavy gun. Slight issue. 45/50.
TOTAL: 90/100
Nice design, and easily outperforming a number of other entries in the competition. As a gunship. Nicely done indeed...
LOOKS: This thing looks as though Skynet had WAAY too much time on their hands. 9/10
HANDLING: Not bad for something billboarded as a bomber. Handling is quite sluggish above 700mph for me. Also, Hover Mode is seriously sketchy. 14/20.
SURVIVABILITY: High speed, strong armor, decent agility and C/Meas... that normally does the trick. Nice Anti Tailgater cannon underneath too. 8/10.
FUNCTIONALITY: Its basic frame lacks any real quirks, however its Twin Plasma turret system, bombsight (seriously, have you got John Wick as the bomb aimer?!) and Hover System are awesome. 9/10.
WEAPONS DELIVERY: Seriously easy. Point and Click. A drunk could probably still hit the target with this. At Mach 2. 50/50
TOTAL:90/100
One of only two pure-bred bombers entered, this thing is in its own way as awesome as the Vendetta. Nice job.
LOOKS: Looks like a Foxbat and a Flanker procreated. Awesome. 8/10.
HANDLING: Very comfortable. Even moreso less its Apocalypse Cradle. Nice touch giving it canardettes for additional pitch authority. 16/20.
SURVIVABILITY: It's fast and agile, and packs AMRAAMS for self defence. However, a lack of cannon of C/Meas could easily spell doom for this aircraft in a live battle zone. 7/10
FUNCTIONALITY: Nice attempt at a bombsight and a very effective parachute-retarded payload. Still, it feels like it's lacking something. Also, what's with the VTOL bar that does nothing? 6/10.
WEAPONS DELIVERY: With some practice, this aircraft is an incredible fighter-bomber. However, miss with the payload and you have to go back and rearm. Still, it does the job. 45/50
TOTAL: 82/100
Nicely designed, and functions like I'd expect an aircraft of this type and appearance to do so.
LOOKS: Like something the Black Knights should be chasing around Californian airspace circa 1997. 8/10.
HANDLING: Thrust vectoring is a rare feature and undoubtedly helps, but the airframe's insane speed negates a lot of the advantages. 12/20.
SURVIVABILITY: Its speed will allow it to simply outrun most SAMs and Interceptors, coupled with C/Meas will make this- thing/UFO- almost unstoppable. 9/10.
FUNCTIONALITY: Beyond standard flight controls and the wings modded with VTOL to create canard flaps, nothing extraordinary to report. 4/10.
WEAPONS DELIVERY: Ludicrous, and I mean LUDICROUS levels of firepower. Are 72 Inferno AGMs really necessary? 46/50.
TOTAL: 79/100
A few quirky features separate this from most entries, however I think it'd be more at home in an OP Planes Competition. It achieves the aim, however.
A 'bloody paralyzer' so huge, that every large bomber or aircraft for about twenty years subsequent was referred to as a Handley-Page. Sweet.
Throwback to Normandy/ Market Garden. Simple and yet perfect, I love it. Makes my builds look potato-ey
@Misha1004 we all know the postman delivers bad news. So does this post man... 12 bundles of bad news hahaha
+1Postman... I like that XD
@Jetpackturtle Most pilots did.
+2My favourites are 'Faith', 'Hope' and 'Charity'. The trio that helped defend Malta.
Biplanes versus Modern Regia AND Luftwaffe aircraft. What wins?
@Sgtk don't get your hopes up too high. Airframe is a little dodgy and the windows look a little naff but it'll hopefully all work well.
I've reviewed my design and restarted work on it. Got the landing gear working again, just working on that (b!!!!!!) nose and cockpit, though I think I'll sack that off in favour of more details elsewhere.
British bias much?
Smug git...
Tail happy is good. Clarkson would have a FIELD DAY with this!

I'm half-tempted to take this 2a and tweak it into a Land Rover 90/110 or a WMIK. Not that I'm that skilled with car building...
I utterly despise this plane in War Thunder, but you've done an awesome job of it.

@Tang0five np, I've never heard of the Hp Jetstream or its descendant. And I'm a Brit aerogeek.
I am the definition of British BLASPHEMY!
This is a pretty cool design. I'm not going to lecture you on detailing as I'm not much better for it... :p
Deal me in @Sgtk but don't expect anything too fancy. I was just about to consider a Skylanes from Fallout 4, however they aren't regional. Not as far as I, a semi-educated aerogeek, can discern.
Also used by the SOE much like the Lysander...
This thing lands so smoothly and I'd argue that without payload it doesn't even need the 'chutes.

Hope Iraq built some better HAS on their airbases... Desert Storm Part II coming right up!
@Tang0five I just retested its handling. A Mig-15/17 "Fagot" could probably nail it in a maneuvering fight, but a comparable aircraft such as a '21 "Fishbed"? This would bone it all day long in a dogfight especially at close range!
@Tang0five If they're modelled with semireal handling I'd doubt it.
@Tully2001 my thoughts exactly, although this has a slightly higher part count (301 as opposed to the original @Russkiy98 build at 277 parts )
+1MiG- eater indeed.
MAJESTIC
Air Chuck Norris, anyone? Nice looking build anyway.
@Treadmill103 Thanks! I had a few internal arguments over whether or not the handling was right, be it too fast or too slow, but apparently it seems to have worked!
@parjay It's not supposed to. It's an Ekranoplan like the Caspian Sea Monster. Rules said it was legal, so...
Ah, this plane. Indiana Jones flashbacks all round...
@Geniuswaffel Yours was pretty good to begin with, and had some pretty quirky details e.g. the air intake under the fuselage. All I've really done is tweak it so that the airframe is no longer behaving as a Widowmaker. Congratulations should be to you :)
The father of one of the best- if not THE best- prop fighter of the war. Beautiful build...
This is more complex and nicer looking than most of my aircraft builds! Noice!
Nice uprate from the predecessor, looks like something that the B-29s didn't really enjoy meeting over Korea ;)
Deadline?
Now all we need is a few Fagots (MiG-15) or Fishbeds (MiG-21) and we're laughing...
@TMach5 given how great this Sandy is it deserves 3 upvotes from me! Watch your heads Charlie, it's raining pain!
If you don't get it, go watch Forrest Gump.
@ThunderscreechEngineering
@BACconcordepilot
Looking at you guys -.- XD
Rewards will be dealt with this week. And I believe the Top Gun awards finally got dealt with, sorry about the delay. Must have a few wires loose upstairs... bzzt ah, fixed.
ENTRIES HAVE ALL BEEN ASSESSED!
WE HAVE... (ah. nuts...) A TIE!
@GhostHTX and @Reaper9 both scored 90/100.

It handles horribly, so handling too is completely authentic to spec ;) sweet build anyway my friend!
+1@Tang0five SAAB have always been magical wizards of aircraft. All aircraft are able to fly from Bas 60 and Bas 90 roads too.
Who forgot @MailboxIsMyGender 's meds?
+1Nice looking build, will upvote after my cooldown
The nostalgia factor on this.
