This judge is not very good. This one got 24pts and it’s not even a rally car.👇

You should have more points or they should have less. This is a great entry even though it does accelerate pretty quickly imo. Did u use the FT code on the engine from the challenge page?
@Nanta02
This is the kind of creativity I miss in simple planes. All of todays planes are replicas and feel super unsatisfying to fly. This is what what simple planes felt like in the early days. Functional planes with definitively unique flight characteristics. It’s a physics sim at heart. Gave me a hearty laugh when I saw the lift system. Creative and functional. Hard to find these gems.
@Lemoose Tadaaa! Thank you for letting me use your build. I learned so much about XML in customizing it, and still have ideas to make it better! I gave you credit in the main post.
@Noname918181 I know the deadline for entries past, but important STOL parameters have been fixed on this post, making it transition properly to and from VTOL.
p.s. This site's 5 posts every 24 hours rule prevented me from fixing it sooner :(
Wow! This is the kind of build I wanted to make for the VTOL contest, but couldn’t! With the radar and button for electrical system and everything. Instead I focused on replicating the F-35B’s lift system. Going in my favorites. If you get the part count down for the contest, I’m sure you’ll land in the top 3
Very useful, simple suggestion:
- A part limit for the sum of all planes currently in the game, making it so weak pc’s do not have to entirely exclude high part planes when there’s no one else playing.
- This could be enabled by default as well in the base game warning you exactly when to many ai planes are around.
I love your build style. I am not good at building with this game’s editor tools. Make a low part count, smooth, to scale F-35B body that’s not 4 years old and I’ll give it a banger gyro free lift system complete with auto transition from VTOL to CTOL?
DUDE! Florida man’s plane! U have to make kiteboarding next. It’d be a blast with Gestour’s ocean mod in first person view. Little kite with camera looking at it from surfer dude’s perspective lol
YES, go upvote it if you like it! I said it like twice in the description. He let me build on it and its lift system for use in this contest. I pretty much tweaked the STOVL a little, added cruise control & more accurate hover controls (which is the biggest addition to the lift system) and changed the throttle control in forward flight. All other additions are pretty obvious. @FadelFDL I have more ideas but won’t finish before contest deadline
F-35B PLEEEEEASE? See this plane's lift system for realistic controls (but car like cruise control (via trim) when hovering would be more realistic):

I'll just leave this here. Cosine is a trig function. If you use cosine(AngleOfSlip), it will output a value from 0-1 depending on your direction of motion forwards, OR a value from 0-(-1) if you are moving backwards. The cosine function finds the perfect ratio between x and y that fit your angle, so if the angle is negative, that ration will be a negative #. You can also use the sign(x) to just give you 1 or -1 depending on if x is pos or neg. sign(cos(AngleOfSlip) will give 1 if moving forewards or -1 if moving backwards. A hurrah moment for me!
I like how the head moves at the same speed up and down regardless of how hard it’s flapping. Obviously vibing with the games music. Hilarious. This must be used in multiplayer to form a flock 😂
@Mashu oh I tried this tank the other day where its cannon followed the camera. Reverse engineering that might lead you somewhere, so you could “steer” the missile by looking around on its camera. Unfortunately I have no idea what it was called
@Lilshrimp So, it's been a while but if you still want to know how, I think I have it figured out. You really want to get in the mind set of "slow decent" when landing. The reason for this is that the thrust in front automatically comes out in VTOL down mode to "help" keep the craft level. Meaning if the plane at any moment leans upside down, you'll probably have to re-start. To slow down, use all the air brakes. Slide the VTOL lever down most of the way and have about 20% thrust. When you're going so slow that the wings don't work any more, smack that VTOL lever to the bottom and pull a 180 via YAW controls. Roll during the rotation to slow down further. Once the 180 is complete, if you're drifting backwards, slightly tap the VTOL lever from the very bottom WHILE THE THROTTLE IS AROUND 45% because when the VTOL lever moves out of that smack bottom spot, the auto-leveling system turns off leaving complete rear thrust control completely manual. 45% makes a good ratio of front and rear thrust so you don't do flips lol. Do this as many times as you need to slow down to stationary speed while aiming for the spot. Practice will make aiming easier. My last piece of advice is if you are descending to fast, tap the VTOL lever out of the -1, bottom, position with 50% throttle or so to deactivate the auto pitch system and let you control the rear engine's thrust better. I'd like to know how a real F-35 control scheme would works. I always thought this was like it but never checked.
Hello WNP78. Thank you for your Troll Shield Mod it's the best lol. You helped Gestour with the Ocean Mod and it is a very nice mod. A serious quality of life improvement to the game. Thank you. To take it even further though, would you or Gestour ever consider making the wave settings change according to the game's built in 'dynamic weather' setting and/or time of day? That would make gameplay much more immersive.
I know this is old, but one thing to notice is the safety factor. If you run out of fuel mid flight, there's no way to land. Maybe with BIG parachutes, but still no control of where the craft will end up.
Make a not so simple planes game with only the highest quality graphics and mods and resolution or something and sell it as a separate game. I want to make simple planes like a AAA game with mods, but keep finding it frustrating and impossible to do. A good opportunity to include some objective story like missions like military troop dropping mission or rescue people from burning building with helicopter or flying people around in big planes or advertising via smoke drawings in the sky. Maybe include space like atmosphere while your at it. BUT FOCUS ON PLANES!!! XD Leave modders with outer space to work with lol.
You have mastered part efficiency with the game tools. Another user by the name Lemoose was once a master as well, but since the new modeling features came out, he is no longer the best.
There's a fix for your sensitive Paveway's. Limit the roll angles. For example looking right by a tiny bit only rolls the Paveway by 10 degrees. Then looking right a 50 degrees rolls the Paveway 90 degrees or something like that. My last video might give you some ideas
@Bryan5 Codes are up.^ When I replied 2.5 years ago, I thought you wanted me to tag you on the plane when it was finished, but now I think I see you wanted the code lol
@StockPlanesRemastered It’s not a rip-off. It’s even got a mission editor. Last week they added carriers and it gives you a glide scope and tells you to speed up or slow down when coming in to land. But some missions can be boring. Haven’t tried multiplayer yet.
The coolest looking planes always have unrealistic flight models or high part count :(

+1So, did you see if you could replace the spawnable AI tanker with this one? Might want to try the same thing myself
+1Just thought you should know I come back to simple planes every once in a while away from other airplane games just to fly this plane you built.
Why do you make so many AI planes? Points? Personal challenge?
@Kerbango I’ve an odd sense of humor. Also check this out. Balloons Plural
Nobody panic! I fixed this broken balloon. It’s the only successor.
Who is your favorite builder in SP for off-roaders with realistic handling and suspension?
Personal top speed: 1,002 mph
Personal max height: 18,252 ft
SR-71 Blackbird?
You have mastered part efficiency with the game tools. Another user by the name Lemoose was once a master as well, but since the new modeling features came out, he is no longer the best.
Idk if you figured it out yet, but I believe if you change the hinge type to a cube rotator type, the issue will go away.
Note to self: Stopped at pg. 29 of highest rated planes of all time
No clue how to start this 145 upvote plane with instructions. I feel attacked. Why you do this to me?

Runway bombing would also do something.
Is that wind speed flag not moving? Lol insane mod
