@Baldovino the drag points go up as the brake moves, and down when you retract carriage, if you move wings during flight the characteristics change and the same with thrust vectoring, that wouldn't work u bless the centre of thrust moved right?
Lol was joking lol, how about hiding a. VTOL near the front so the front is exposed so it can suck in air, then put nozzle as far away from cockpit as possible to reduce noise, you could also put some very slow moving rotators to mask some sound and some of the old prop engines @ElGatoVolador
Well done another awesome design! I've just made a little fun dogfighting plane inspired by gee bee's and I-15's it's a monster lol, I think it could even kill this thing lol ;) so yeah, I think u should make a little fun light MG armed fighter to see if it can beat the XVI Keg :)
@TheColonel so you don't like replicas then, and man, it was a test, simply to see your reaction, none of my replicas have ever been exact copies, I usually give them character, something that a few other replica builders planes lack, and i build replicas simply because I like the planes I build, and I think that more people should learn about them, as most have no idea what the hell a walbro monoplane is, but, athough I may not upload them, I do make a ton of my own wacky inventions on this game, Ive uploaded some, and they are the XVI series, many people say I cannot build replicas, and I agree, I'm not as good as most, but what I do do, is always to a high standard however unrealistic it may be, then again, I do come back to character, and I usually give my builds flight quirks to make the plane a challenge to fly, and that's part of the fun, you get to see how hard some of these are to fly, but what I do not understand is why you say you reserve your upvotes for original ideas, it's quite untrue as you one starred most of my original ideas a long time ago, and I still do not know why, but that's you isn't it, hipocriracal and annoying,
I have also told people I'm fine with them taking my designs and making them better, or fun, but I say that it deducts the amount of true skill needed to build something amazing and usually ask them to build a plane on their own, to wow me, if it does, they usually come up with their own ideas every time, so yes, I will give you a challenge sir I would like you to build two things, 1. A unique build with multiple functions and interesting wing shapes and placements, and 2. An 'assisted' build by taking someone else's plane and modifying it to be better, either more like the original, or more cool, and finally, I ask for friendship, and understanding, I propose a co operative build between empire and rebel, to keep the peace, peace and we will hopefully never treat each other badly again...
I believe that using rotators to move things does induce drag as I've experimented with large drag brakes, and they slow the plane down, so moving things with rotators does change the drag model @Baldovino
By using others people cannot see how good you are, whilst this is actually quite good, (I was tired to the point of sleepwalking before) it still does not show off your true skill at building, so build me something that can do that, and take a long time to make sure it's perfect (as some aspects of this design are not) and the. Release it to the public and expect lots of upvotes
I suggest you build your own and show off your unique skill, you would be amazing at steampunk building, so yeh, go build something amazing and don't bother with my planes, as using other ppls stuff deducts the requirement for skill, and the latter word I am sure you have @SwagAircrafts
@Nickasaurus just looking through some old pages, went onto my walbro monoplane and found a comment of yours asking for help with the rotators... Sorry must've missed it lol, it was the days when I got so many notifs half got deleted as more piled up...
It was a proper display lasted 15 mins, just couldn't land because the shuttleworth has a grass strip and nowhere near enough space to land a Vulcan still last airshow, and how dare you say that the shuttleworth can't hold proper airshows I'm sure my friends there would be quite angry with you if you saved that their airshows aren't really airshows, it's still an airshow, even if it does not take off and land at the same place, it did two wing overs, and multiple passes with the AVRO Anson is a coast airshow still an airshow if the planes takeoff from an inland airbase and perform over the sea probably 50 miles from base? Or is that a fly past in your mind, anyways I don't have time to argue with the ultimately arrogant @Bababooey
@Bababooey -_- it was not private the shuttleworth collection is a grass aerodrome the Vulcan did a flyby display and due to ticket restraints only 3000 were able to fit in the actual car parks, look it up, i think you will find that you are wrong
Lol all done with clockwork and timing, and even then they were terribly innacurate and that's why the bombardier was there, for using a bombsight, there are two differences between ww2 American bombers and ww2 British bombers, and the first is the method of bomb aiming, and the second is the use, the Brits had a complex timing system and sometimes Mosquitos flew ahead of the main formation and dropped flares to show them where to drop, and the Americans used their ingenious bombsight that let the bombardier fly the plane to aim, the other difference is that we operated mainly at night as our bombers lacked sufficient defences, and the American bombers had lots o guns lol, so yeah, look up the Bombe, and colossus computers and they are really the first non mechanical ones, they have both operational in their original army sheds lol, and I've been there and both extremely interesting machines for breaking the enigma and Lorenz codes used by the nazis basicly how we won the main land battles of the war cause we knew where their tanks would be lol, but yes, the mechanism can be classified as a computer bug it is only a mechanical one! :) @RocketLL
Not really..... Electronic computers were derived from code breaking computers from WW2 the mechanisms in bombers were all mechanical for calculating distance even the avro Vulcan in the Falklands raid had a mechanical targeting system, basicly it takes into account speed and altitude and you put in a target and you get a counter when it reached 5 you started dropping the Bombs when it reached 0 half of your load was gone and then when you had finished bombing the mechanism was reset @RocketLL
Is there auto pilot on beta? Oh and I have found a fault with the bomb mechanics, if using them in a bomb bay, sometimes bombs collide with others and the rear, causing you to explode when releasing them... Is there a way you can make them drop in teirs? Oh and I have found the new levels petty cool, but on the dogfight level the AI doesn't seem to take plane size into perspective as if I give the AI a hellbringer (my plane that is the size of the U.S.S tiny) it still decides to fly very low level usually ending in a crash so a higher spawn point would be pretty good to simulate high altitude battles, unfortunately I haven't been able to test guns against much, as they lag me to hell when I fire lol, so I haven't been able to hit anything... Thus the hellbringer lol @AndrewGarrison
@RocketLL I calculate it I imagine in my head my altitude and speed and then when I should release the bombs, it all depends on altitude and speed really, the lower and slower the easier it is to hit a target, but remember if you are using a ww2 bomber like a b17 or Lancaster and you miss, that's fine cause you are in a formation of 100 other bombers so essentialy you get a carpet bomb effect
Bombs are only useful if you know what you are doing, and even then they aren't that accurate, but that's why you have lots of bombs in bombers so you don't Just miss entirely lol, @RocketLL
First squadron already complete, just need mechanical fixes and some details, second squadron have basic fuselage outlines, one question would you like me to upload on PlanesOfOld or here,
Oh and another, what one would you like to see first?
I have been testing them on a bomber so the plane is large too, I drop 5 small bombs and 4 large (my whitely has 200 ish parts ) and if the successfully drop then it's fine but if two follow at very close intervals there's somehow quite a lot of lag, @WalrusAircraft
Just completed first tests, It seems dropping large bomb loads or firing multiple weapons slows down the game and can end in a game crash... IPad mini 1
Interesting.... I may need you to do that on my vickers wellington... But to make the front wings actually lift ... And a few other things like hiding rotators for turret mechanisms and things like that.. And since you were so good at making them some larger RAF roundels for larger planes.... U know.... Lancatsers and things.... :) if it isn't too much lol, (I do have 3 done allreday and will manage some of the turrets myself, but will wit for weapons before I start, some will probably need un sticking when they are made if you know what I mean) better get back to the Stirling! @Skua
I've had that problem when I tried to replicate it, it's a balance issue caused by the wing design meaning if the COM is not in the correct place the plane gets a nose down attitude that is enhanced by its high prop, almost all twin pontoon seaplanes have this fault, but in the s6 its intensified
a good example of why copying is bad is here say I, spent many many hours days weeks or months building one of my favourite aircraft, and then someone takes my plane, and re uploads it and gets upvotes from completely different people that upvoted mine,
This is bad, because it is stealing attention and praise from the original creator, the original creator then gets angry, and even more angry if you disfigure of ruin his aircraft or rename it with a silly title or description, and goes ape on you and any of your little friends, also please, read the rules, copying is highly frowned upon and any copies will be taken down and the users banned if they do it again, so do you want to be banned?
I've been reporting the ones I've seen but I'm not usually on much anymore and mostly if playing sp spend time in the hangar with my Brit Bomber projects @TheLatentImage
There are some iron crosses made by Cjredwards that may fit your turrets, it would add even more detail, and also I would lie, to see camo or possibly a log on the side of a tank lol
ITS IN BETA DONT GET IMPATIENT ITS STILL QUITE UNSTABLE
But cannot find it @Sirstupid
Just about to! @Sirstupid
@andrewgarrison @philiptarpley still not sure it's a bug lol, but pretty annoying all the same
@Baldovino the drag points go up as the brake moves, and down when you retract carriage, if you move wings during flight the characteristics change and the same with thrust vectoring, that wouldn't work u bless the centre of thrust moved right?

Bally good fellow, you did not follow my order, this proves you aren't stupid after all, :) @TheColonel

@TheColonel seeing as it's such a "timeless classic" why not give it an upvote?
I suggest you build your own and show off your unique skill, you would be amazing at steampunk building, so yeh, go build something amazing and don't bother with my planes, as using other ppls stuff deducts the requirement for skill, and the latter word I am sure you have @SwagAircrafts

Sorry it took so long for me to get here...
Please don't ruin my aeroplanes

No there were over 3000 people there... @Bababooey
No... The last airwhow was at the shuttleworth collection.... October 4th 2015 you are thinking of another @Bababooey
Idk...
Not as big as the hellbringer :)

Or mhenwhile in soviet Russia
Like a sir,
Can u build some more roundels, possibly from 2.5x2.5-4X4 or even 5x5 using the walrus circle method :) will be really usefull for bombers thx!
In what way? @AnarchistAerospaceIndustries
I've been dogfighting in the hellbringer XD its so big I could drop Bombs on it lol @Cedy117

Hazar! I've been waiting for this one for a long time :)
First squadron already complete, just need mechanical fixes and some details, second squadron have basic fuselage outlines, one question would you like me to upload on PlanesOfOld or here,
Oh and another, what one would you like to see first?
I use tail skids for most of the pre 30s aircraft I make,
But the small unretractable wheel works great with the larger landing gears at the front,
I have been testing them on a bomber so the plane is large too, I drop 5 small bombs and 4 large (my whitely has 200 ish parts ) and if the successfully drop then it's fine but if two follow at very close intervals there's somehow quite a lot of lag, @WalrusAircraft

If you said 150 spitfires I would be like, yeah, they would win but since you picked the les maneuverable mustang I will have to say no
And I type super fast
When I misspell a word it's usually because I've spelt it wrong before and autocorrect has gone, I'm gonna write you as ypu forever lol
HahHahaha @Skua
Try that race in my bleriot ;)
