Dude, you do good aircraft. It's nice to see youve chosen the detail route, but honestly you shouldnt debase yourself regarding lower effort planes.
They look nice and have a unique style, be proud of yourself.
As for cosmetics, in many cases youre already there. I'd, as you said, recommend trying to use concepts like thrust vectoring or STOL in your aircraft, it would be pretty cool to see one like that.
Take your time of course, you don't need to feel pressured by us.
