@davygravy10 Quit being such a scaredy cat. Dropbox doesn't do any of that stuff. They only provide cloud storage. If people who want to take advantage of you and want to give you a bad time use Dropbox as well it is a completely different thing.
So we can build literally anything as long as it meets the requirements?
Question 2: SP will apply drag even to parts completely obscured from the oncoming air. Can we remove drag from these parts or must they too have drag?
@CRJ900Pilot This kind of thing is called a HOTAS, Hands On Throttle And Stick.
I use an X52 I got used for 40€. It's very nice, I recommend it if you are a bit of a tinkerer since you can open it up when the potentiometers get dirty and keep cleaning them to keep it usable for years.
@ACEPILOT109 mean that I made up the plane in SP and then made (kinda) a recreation of it for the X-Plane flight simulator. It's quite a bit more challenging.
@Marcochoy2007 Landing smoke should appear when touching down with at least some friction. Try something bigger or landing more roughly. I get it just fine on PC.
I'm very sorry for taking down the other one and reuploading, but there were some things I still had to fix. Namely, the targeting, the hook, the firing system (it blowed up when you fired sometimes).
It also brings some new features! The new penta rails make it easier to carry a lot of stuff and not blow yourself up with it. The targeting pod also makes it possible to lock quickly and fire salvos (just keep the fire button pressed).
[Edit: don't go too crazy with the salvos either. Maybe just rails of three would be better for less blowing up, but we can't really afford to carry less equipment can we? Hehe.]
The aircraft has also gotten bigger, and, while there are less hardpoints, the layout is more practical for the intended role of sinking ships.
@MasterLobster I just added a "state of the art targeting pod" and modded the missiles accordingly. At least I came up with some cool stuff, even if it's not realistic.
I've actually been using this map to fine-tune my own entry to the Naval Attack Challenge. I must say, you must have put some powerful missiles on those aircraft to actually kill off the ships.
@Mercyaircraftcorporation Many thanks for your kind words, I was actually having a problem earlier where some of the tiny details like the pitot tubes on the nose and some static wicks on the tail were seemingly multiplying like Gremlins. At one point it was at 699 parts, so you can imagine my dismay when I got rid of all the little ghosts and still turned out to be under the limit.
I actually don't know what the limit is for spacing of pylons IRL, I'm guessing that it's so that you can fit anything on them regardless of its size. Here, the pylons are particularly spaced to allow for single missiles and bombs close to the fuselage and big penta rails at the outboards. I guess it's more efficient to be able to load them up indiscriminately but it's really not a problem in this game, so I could load up to my heart's content.
I am also glad that you think it's clean, as I still have a ways to go before I can build like Miko, Eden, Raptor or even the TSAD guys. I quite appreciate it.
Hey! I finally entered a challenge! This is the first aircraft of mine built with higher detail. I had another but I couldn't get it up to the required part count (that one will be released soon as well). Here, I am using several "tricks" (custom control surfaces, extra lights, canopy, loads of weapons) but I just barely got to the part count.
Even though I am using the names of real manufacturers and sort of realistic time periods, I am indeed choosing to ignore the fact that the Spanish Navy does not use the catapult system for its carrier (they operate Harriers on those instead). For the air operations, I am also choosing to ignore the existence of the EF-18 or the Eurofighter as part of Spain's participation in Airbus.
@Mustang51 Trust me, the fuselage is plenty long already. That is not to say it can't be even longer, but even to get it to how it is here I already streched it quite a bit.
Maybe I could've added the Spanish Air Force crest to the wings as well. I would have made all the control surfaces custom as well were it not for the fact that they tend not to work without massive amounts of drag as well as how finicky they are depending on their placement relative to the CoL. I will try it out though.
Man... You're an amazing builder. It's too bad the challenge has a minimum part count of 230 and I'm no good with details, I could probably build a sweet aircraft otherwise.
This is actually pretty damn well done! I don't know how it got marked as a successor of my CF6 since I don't see a single part of it i here, but do you mind if I make this a full on replica?
@MaxB17 Here it is! I think it's pretty close, honestly. The power is matched (including the reverse, idle+full power) and its appearance matches it pretty closely. AG1 for reverse, VTOL up for power.
@MaxB17 This is what I've got for now. What remains is to make it more accurate power-wise and probably shorten it and increase the curve of the shroud.
@MaxB17 Hi Max! Many thanks for your kind words, I didn't think people appreciated my engines all that much. I can absolutely research and try to build the engine by tomorrow. Any particular color scheme?
@davygravy10 No worries! :)
@Typicalbuilder Gestour made a vapor cone mod, but I don't know how well it works nowadays and it's obviously not available on mobile.
@Shippy456 KSP it. Moar fuel! Or make your actual plane heavier, or hang more weapons from it.

¿Se puede reducir en vez de quitar por completo el drag del fuselaje? La resistencia al aire excesiva impide una aceleración realista.
@Shippy456 check Miko's profile for a video. You can also check out the YouTube video linked here for what this challenge is based on.
@ND40X Must be a jet.

you little piece of-
Those are some very nice split winglets!
Clocks are important
Also designated crew members T-pose on carriers to signal the pilot to unfold their wings
I don't think I've had a performance nerf updating to 1.9. My PC is pretty decent though, so YMMV.

Daaang... I see. Must be easier to fly and not blow up... How'd you like the rest? I also noticed the complete lack of bomb dropping.
@ACEPILOT109 mean that I made up the plane in SP and then made (kinda) a recreation of it for the X-Plane flight simulator. It's quite a bit more challenging.
Cool! I have just the thing >:)
I'm actually making the same aircraft in X-Plane but that's a wee bit harder lol
@RicardoAs1515 In your Play Store library, there's a tab at the right called Beta. That should be it, you should be able to leave and join at will.
@Mustang51 Ye I'll just get rid of the wingtip hardpoints ;)

@mikoyanster Ask and you shall receive! Here's an invite, it doesn't expire. https://discord.gg/jGeradA
I second the OBS suggestion, it is really very nice. How long did this take you to complete?

@mikoyanster Should I upload a new version with a couple minor fixes? (It's the nose gear and the rudder)
@Burtcrusher You too, good luck!
@Mercyaircraftcorporation Likewise!
Is the vapor off the wings only available in SimpleWings?

Otro español!Y con un EF-18!Y que también cree en los diseños de pocas partes!
Hey @mikoyanster, what version of Unity do you use? Is it 2018.3.6 as suggested in the guide, or a newer one?
@mikoyanster Is that just a thank you, or does that mean I can enter my usual extra-mobile-friendly aircraft (with all the weapons of course)?
Man... You're an amazing builder. It's too bad the challenge has a minimum part count of 230 and I'm no good with details, I could probably build a sweet aircraft otherwise.
Can we use mod parts, like the weapons bay fuselage? Or do we have to build it all ourselves?

Can I take this opportunity to join the list of people pestering you for built in XML editing?
@Mattangi2 Phrase your jokes better.
Also it's whoooosh with 4 o's.
@Mattangi2 It's always been on PC. You press the leftmost key on the top row.
What an absolute mad lad.
That is one long boi. I'll download it on my PC and tell you how it goes.

Hey @MaxB17 ! Would you like me to make engine thrust identical to that of the original CF6-50?
@TheXDimension32 It actually seems pretty realistic except for the whole exploding thing. I could try to fix it.
@MaxB17 Hi Max! Many thanks for your kind words, I didn't think people appreciated my engines all that much. I can absolutely research and try to build the engine by tomorrow. Any particular color scheme?
Nice plane, but the landing gear seems to collapse under the weight, making the whole aircraft explode.
@mikoyanster It's cool. It just seemed a bit odd that there's been so many of these lately :)
Did y'all plan together to make these or something?
