@MintLynx yeah, now everything works (although would still like vtol buoyant fusalages). i am adjusting the rear prop to get to the speed i want ~30knts ~28mph. also my VCS struggles to resurface without help so yeahhh... still a WIP for sure
@MintLynx Credit where credit is due, i got my prop design from the genius who made this https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/27tE22/Dive-and-Hunt-U-96-U-Boat-Type-VIIC . Although i added some changes and the double rotator to work better in the water. Ill have to check the piston "sinkers" then if gesture dosn't have the time to make the variable buoyancy fuselage or add weight. Just experimenting rn as subs are in their infancy in terms of building meta and what methods seem to work the best for what you want.
@MintLynx I asked him and he said maybe. it seems similar enough to what he made for the android version of buoyancy that he could do it relatively easily, however that is just me speculating. I also inquired about a zero buoyancy cockpit as the current one prevents stuff from sinking properly and the only work around is doing what i do and ejecting the cockpit and using a camera as the way to view what is going on
@MintLynx yes, but it is not that realistic, would rather have a variable bouyancy block as that alows the sub to "fly" in the water instead of being stuck at the level the pistons are set at
@mojoyup nice! yeah ive been around subs before thus the inspiration to make this guy. here is the WIP/ physics test i have so far lol https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/6rX2ZN/VCS-WIP
Nice! I am currently working on a VCS look alike. Mine uses a modded rotator prop to power it without need for air. Im also trying to make it fully submersible without having to use the extendors to dive. (gonna ask some modders if they can make a floater block that has buoyancy as a Vtol slider). I can share u what i got if you want some ideas/ insperation. I like seeing fellow peeps try to make subs, especally when it is so hard to in this game
if you don't already know, fly at 75 deg (from volcano island/yager airport) for ~50 miles, you will find a round smooth island, that is the kraken, he will pop up and growl at you. He is indestructible (i have hit him with many of the most powerfull nukes and get nothing). There is also some weird wispering and fun stuff to do with his eyeball. Have fun
@cb4445 it doesnt track your mouse, it tracks your aimer reticle. so when you shoot the inferno rocket once it locks onto the laser designation it will follow where your reticle is pointed (live mode)
@HellFireKoder sounds good, keep up the great work man. This mod is pretty revolutionary considering that this should have been a feature since release.
@Thefalloutplayr I know its called XML modding... I do a fair amount of that stuff myself. I'm asking for an in game size scaler so i dont have to alt-tab out, change, save , reload ect...
@Toscio56 yup, i just adjusted the speed to 4.4x and used 4 props. The ship weighs now 550,000 lbs (thats without the turrets and superstructure). got it to go 34 mph
@Toscio56 Also i am building a Large BB (yamato inspired) and am thinking about yousing your custome screws. It needs to go max of 32 mph with 4 screws. Is there a certan method that you use to determine the speed of the rotors, or do you just play with it untill you get the right speed?
@Toscio56 also how do your floaters work. im really fascinated by them. i might build a sub at some time and i was wondering if you could breef me. dont worry if and when i do make a sub u get full credit for original floater concept and you ill be cited as a source.
@OtterOfToast What i do for trim tabs is attach a small support wing to a roter and nudge the rotar wing combo into the planes fuselage. i set the roter to only 15ish degrees of rotation and give it its own activation group. Here is an example of what i am talking about. That plane needs a bit of negative pitch trim to have flat horizontal flight. (or you could pull the wings back, but you get less agility). 6- is pitch trim.
@Skua lol yeah there would be. The would however have the chalange of designing a plane that can handle ludicrous speed without snapping its wings. GL to whoever can do that
@Skua yes, but without being able to mod jets, its impossible (highly impracticable) to create things like the sr71 that had duel turbo-ram jets that could bring it above mach 3.2 . These speeds simply aren't offered in SP without XML. And the amount of times ive seen mod request just to do an engine boost mod are ridiculous. Adding a config option for those who don't or can't XML mod would be very beneficial. And i get it, things like infinite fuel and absurdly modded jets are kinda boring and detract from the challenge. But a 1.5x or even a 2x or 3x jets are still much within the realm of speeds that real jets can achieve. And don't take what i'm saying here as a negative rant or whatever, just thought i would provide a different angle on this topic.
@Freedom Wow dude, why you so salty? If your going to be such a dick/ troll do it on a website where it doesn't matter, ie reddit/ 4chan. Enough with the hate on SP. This is completely unnecessary and uncalled for. If you don't like it don't download and don't comment unless you can be constructive about improvements (no what you just said is not constructive and i don't want to here it). This is the last you'l here from me about this.
@t8erh8er ive had to drop out due to exams and alot of collage work. I'm srry for not telling you guys sooner. If its something small i could help. but other than that i dont really have the time :(
@Waemoth I'm aware of how think the armor belts were on BB's bro. also most BB's didn't even have 410mm of armor on the belt. The Yamato did, and it also had 25in of armor on its turret front. And that all floated because of buoyancy, and not some magic block that can just suddenly generate buoyancy. I just want to be able to have an armor belt and other kinda armored parts that are harder to destroy and wont be suspect to "machine gun killing" my ship.
@KingDeadshot as long as the armor block can still float under its own weight if boyancy is 100%. Other wise BB's would be imposible, because they are pretty much armor everywhere. @Waemoth
@HellFireKoder sweet thx, love the work you've done. probably going to use this a lot, cus im lazy and don't want to go back and forth between SP and it's designated xml file. That's why i suggested fuselage size. But you can only do so much i understand. Keep up the good work.
@Ajaguarb if you are curious you can disect one of the booster pods and see how it is done better
@Ajaguarb you put them in a box
@MintLynx yeah, now everything works (although would still like vtol buoyant fusalages). i am adjusting the rear prop to get to the speed i want ~30knts ~28mph. also my VCS struggles to resurface without help so yeahhh... still a WIP for sure
@MintLynx underwater mod screwd everyhing up, now just using underwater camera mod and everything works fine
@MintLynx i have them on high, do u have the underwater and the underwater camera mods?
@MintLynx i can't get it to sink, it gets caught on the cockpit, and the cockpit wont sink
how do u submerge?
@MintLynx link it!
@MintLynx omg that is awsome!!
@MintLynx does it not rescale the wing surface area/control surface when u scale the wing down?
@MintLynx Credit where credit is due, i got my prop design from the genius who made this https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/27tE22/Dive-and-Hunt-U-96-U-Boat-Type-VIIC . @mojoyup thanks! glad u like it :) feel free to use anything from it to help out your sub
@MintLynx I asked him and he said maybe. it seems similar enough to what he made for the android version of buoyancy that he could do it relatively easily, however that is just me speculating. is this island in the vanilla map, or is it standalone?
+2if you don't already know, fly at 75 deg (from volcano island/yager airport) for ~50 miles, you will find a round smooth island, that is the kraken, he will pop up and growl at you. He is indestructible (i have hit him with many of the most powerfull nukes and get nothing). There is also some weird wispering and fun stuff to do with his eyeball. Have fun
+1@PilotOfFuture That file does not contain information about your control mapping
First real *rocket. They already have jet engines in this game and they work as they are supposed to..
@HellFireKoder sweet, what about exposions, for example the nuke mod, would that create the same effect in the surver or no?
@HellFireKoder @UnstableOrbit if you have mods activated, can you still join a server, example mini map mod ect..
is anyone on this surver?? i just joined and kinda want to test dogfight my jet
how do you know if you are in the surver?
I joined something but i have no idea if anyone is there
also if you do figure it out, plss send me the link
The main issue is that when the main fusalage wings are fazed into the plane, it becomes very unstable and pitches or yaws or both out of control
@TehDuck helfire made a fone tuner mod, his does rotation and posiotion, not scale. Alto i do think hellfure is the best canidate to make this.
@Thefalloutplayr I know its called XML modding... I do a fair amount of that stuff myself. I'm asking for an in game size scaler so i dont have to alt-tab out, change, save , reload ect...

This is trully phenominal. great job you should be proud
@OtterOfToast lol oh, i thought you said you use break flaps lol, my b

@Skua Dang, Fastest fighter that i have that is really stable is 2,400 mph
@Skua lol yeah there would be. The would however have the chalange of designing a plane that can handle ludicrous speed without snapping its wings. GL to whoever can do that

@Thelaw11 what system are you on?
@OtterOfToast u do realize you can make trim tabs already?
is there only just the one island?
@UnstableOrbit is there anyway we can download this?
woot another person making a BB at the same time. How far are you and do you have any suggestions/tips? mine is here
