@AndrewGarrison I have one point to make regarding the runway texture. From the video, it appears the runway texture is almost exactly the same as Simpleplanes 1 - a blocky, tiled texture. Arent runways usually asphalt or concrete, not tiles?
On another note, I really do hope you will improve the runways and taxiways in SP2, especially the lights (runway and taxiway edge lights and centerline lights, PAPI lights, so on). I felt SP1 really lacked features for night flying (something for you to consider).
@TheMouse How did out chatroom get leaked, anyway? The only ones accessing it were the members of the now formed high administration. Wait - I have it: BLAME THE MODS

@CrestelAeronautics @TheUltimatePlaneLover @TheMouse I have a question, was the leak CrestelAeronautics betraying the MDA, or was crestel merely announcement a leak that happened?
You might be misunderstanding. Pretty much every single build with more than 50 upvotes has a custom fuselage canopy. Other than "My first plen" and the likes, of course.
One of the 7 (don't quote me on that number) rules of design is to follow what is tried and tested to work. Then again, the last rule of design is to break the rules, so I respect your decision.
Sure, just a suggestion.
If you intend to prioritize speed over quality, you're not going to be able to get into much detail. That's alright though, there is a market for Part-Efficient Aircraft (PEAs) that many users are doing. Basically, looks decent while keeping the part count low, like this aircraft here.
I can agree with that.
When designing my aircraft, I always examine other users' builds. If you like something, like the landing gear, weaponry, canopy, cockpit, wings, and so on, try to replicate it. If you can't replicate it, you can always just ask the user for permission to use it as it is in your build.
Try making your own custom cockpit shape. The base cockpit, or any of the pre-made cockpits are too blocky to look nice.
One tip for the paint scheme, I rarely see real aircraft with wings a different colour to the body. I tried making the colour uniform on this craft, and it instantly improved. See how you like THIS
Try experimenting with different fuselage shapes. Paneling is quite time consuming, but a neat little trick with fuselages is to: Make one pair of opposite corners circular, and the other pair of opposite corners hard. Then rotate the fuselage 45 degrees. There you get a modern fighter jet fuselage shape. Theres a lot more out there than just the usual boring shapes. Look HERE
Custom landing gear. Most of the best builds on this site have custom landing gear, because the existing ones are way too simple. Its a bit more effort, but worth it. There's some videos online as well that can show you how.
Just some extra bits here and there, Text label designs - You can put images into simpleplanes using THIS , just click on choose file, upload it, change the 'Maximum horizontal size of image in pixels' to how high a resolution you want (keep it very low, otherwise it will ruin device performance) and copy and paste the output into a text label. You could make anything, really, with this.
@ReynaldoIndustries Hmm I'm quite busy on other projects at the moment, sorry. Maybe after I release my current mod? But I also need to make sure its feasible.
@TheUltimatePlaneLover Lol thats because the grass is real! These screenshots are a 3D model taken with a HDRI as a background. A HDRI is like a 360 degree picture of a location, like an image on google maps or a VR image. So I download a HDRI of a field, or of a hangar, import it into Fusion (the 3D modelling software), and voila - I can use it for the 3D model of the aircraft.
@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26
Focus on making a good hull. That's the make it or break it for good ships. I normally spend half the entire building time on just the hull. Make it as realistic and good as possible. Ensure the buoyancy is just right to keep the boat afloat while not making the water look like solid ground. I suggest doing the buoyancy at the end, as this will need to change with more weight.
The rest of the stuff is as you wish. Make a detailed superstructure, make sure it has at least one naval cannon (if its military), also CIWS is very good to have, and add a couple of missiles. Countermeasures, when resized and ammo count set to zero, make very good and very easy missile firing pods.
@PlaneFlightX Ok, I'll consider that. Might have to find a place where it doesn't conflict with The Items mod. Are you factoring that in by any chance, including the recent island update for that mod?
@BaconEggs
Yeah ok, I actually have downloaded that, and know some things about Unity already. And yes, I am modelling my own assets. The airport is actually done, but its the touch up stage that is taking so long.
@BaconEggs Ah, makes sense. Would you be willing to give a little advice on my airport mod? I always feel as if something is missing, no matter what I do.
Also, I can never get the right ground textures. Any recommendations? Maybe I can share with you what I have right now and see how you like it.
@TheUltimatePlaneLover @MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 Did we discuss something with Monarchii without me knowing?
+1@Monarchii Nice, pretty similar to my adaptation of the Kamov Ka-26
@blt Yes, JUNO already has block coding called Vizzy. In my opinion its quite a detailed system, actually.
+1@AndrewGarrison Oh my goodness, that is beautiful. I would also like to see this kind of detail for the taxiways too, if that is possible.
+2@AndrewGarrison I have one point to make regarding the runway texture. From the video, it appears the runway texture is almost exactly the same as Simpleplanes 1 - a blocky, tiled texture. Arent runways usually asphalt or concrete, not tiles?

+2Wow, I can never get freehand designing right. That's some talent!
If I want my own aircraft design I most often have to create my own blueprints to follow.

J'Accuse!
+1What the heck is verdasia?
@CrestelAeronautics @TheUltimatePlaneLover @TheMouse I have a question, was the leak CrestelAeronautics betraying the MDA, or was crestel merely announcement a leak that happened?
+1@KPLBall Whats this new thing with crestel aeronautics then?
@KPLBall Was? I need a lore update! Who is in and out?
@TheUltimatePlaneLover @TheMouse What do we do!!!???
And why did this happen?
+1@KPLBall , @Christiant2 is part of the MDA?
+1@Graingy

@AndrewGarrison Any idea of a release date yet? Early, mid, or late 2025?
+1@Graingy Quite nice, its has a simple yet sleek design. Sure, it could be done in greater detail, but as a starting point, its perfect!
+1@Mal0ne You must have a massive stockpile of these builds - you're releasing such detailed crafts so quickly!
@TheUltimatePlaneLover lol must everyone forget the "lr"?
Nice plane!
@KevincastleSP Sure
@KevincastleSP Ho
@ReynaldoIndustries Hmm I'm quite busy on other projects at the moment, sorry. Maybe after I release my current mod? But I also need to make sure its feasible.
@ReynaldoIndustries Sorry, what is that actually?
@KPLBall I have no idea
@KSB24 I guess so. But who here checks anyways?
+1@KSB24 If you were to use a gyroscope at 0.000000001 scale, who would know? 😉
+1@Karroc9522 @StinkyRice Yup, that's correct
@TheUltimatePlaneLover thanks!
@TheUltimatePlaneLover Imagine it as like a Designer Background in simpleplanes. Like these

+1Wonderful!

+1@jamesPLANESii Thanks, although I'm not sure if textures are possible at all. If it is, then I have no idea how to do it.
@Monarchii I'm surprised it's low parts! Very detailed design
+1This is really nice

@Karroc9522 Thanks, and yes, they are all in-game pictures!
@Apollo018362 Yeah, it is a shame. I wish I could.
+1@TheUltimatePlaneLover Thanks!
@PlaneFlightX It is a standalone map... with something extra! It's a secret for now, though ;)
