Not sure if this is feasible, but it would be extremely helpful if there could be a way for sub assemblies to be treated, work, and counted as a single piece part wise, and physics wise, so nameplates, and overly complex liveries doesn't eat up valuable part counts that could have gone on custom control surfaces, engines, or cockpit. Even if it can only be static without hinges, pistons, rotators, or wheels, it would be a great help.
This is a game, where everything created is not of financial value, and generally targeted to younger demographics. We can upvote what we want to upvote. We gain nothing from upvoting, they gain nothing for being upvoted, and you gain nothing for ranting over trivial matters.
@Jazzhere Has your simpleplanes been updated to 1.9.205? this plane utilises smooth functions only present in the latest update, update now but if you use an apk, find the latest version...
This plane is quite charming in its own right.
I've heard you're a Filipino American, I hope I am saying this right;
Rugu keilangan mu talaga neng dasal para keng bansa mu. Lmao.
Please correct me, I carry little faith towards my fellow Filipino friends that they said the proper translation ever since they said "I love you" is "Anakanang Tipaklong" written in Tagalog. There's google translate but where's the fun in that?
It could be because you are running an old version of Simpleplanes. This may be because versions older than 1.9.2 do not support a smooth function this plane is an abundance of. Therefore not able to execute the Funky Tree formula...
@asteroidbook345 It is on the planned list, the Messerschmidt Me264, however, its publish really depends on how successful this first project gets as most Me264 I have seen are either bare metal skin or luftwaffe livery, its planned to fly under US postal service colours but I need to see first how the community reacts when a military plane is used as a civil transport.
@MakoRezei nope, whomever this John Rowan is, it ain't me. I don't go to Simpleplanes Group Chats if it even exists, there was once but I left it a long time ago.
@JCCNtechnologies
[ommited user] This is going to be hard because I play on android. it will lag out my phone. Th most parts I had so far is 590 which is my build I. TA.W.S V2. but thank you.
Well lucky for you, popularity does not always come down to how many parts can you shove in a build, in fact high part count builds does not always equal high popularity points, rather a combination of how well the plane is built, how its presented, would the community enjoy it, how many features it has, and how viable the part count is.
All of the planes I have built for Simpleplanes (apart for 747-146, and An225) are all below the 800 part count and performing fine, it does not even have to reach 800 parts to be popular, I built a Fw189 while I'm still a silver player and it got massive recognition from users. and its only 396 parts. And a word of advice, always think about the mobile users, making a high part count may give you a slight praise from PC/Mac users, but you are cutting off a large playerbase in simpleplanes, if you really want to be popular, think if a mobile user could realistically enjoy it. And now unfortunately, unless you can still somehow download the 1.8 version of Simpleplanes on android, presentation will be limited to a black background and in a website where the most viable way to pop out from others is utilising a custom screenshot, it may be your achilles heel. Presentation is key to pop out to the user, show most of the plane and fill the screen up as much as possible while still seeing the whole plane.
And since interior cockpit is pretty much an uncommon sight in builds, having a well detailed, well built, and well cleaned cockpit interior can boost the popularity of your build, even more so if its mobile friendly.
Now I cannot promise you that following my tips will gratify instant popularity, its exponential, you have to prove to the community your talent in simpleplanes building is worth upvoting for, once the community sees your builds, they may take note of it and might wait to see what you will come up next, its a slow process.
Now the one thing that can cripple your road to popularity is to do something astronically wrong, such as plagiarising builds and claiming it as yours, calling out players or the community, or ranting against the community. Simpleplanes is much like running a business; provide good, cheap products (in this case, playable vehicles for both PC/Mac and mobile), advertising, and great Public Relations.
Great plane from a begginer @Porkchops1233 I am very impressed! Say, how did you build it in such a short span of time? And in such detail? Did you build it?
@Reeeeeeeeeeee45 do forgive me, but in practical sense, it is next to impossible to load things and unload things to the beluga manually, more of a prop for a video really or a photo. Not really meant for any playability in single player which is another problem, for a futile attempt, two players are needed: to keep the beluga on brake, and someone controlling the platform. Even then, it can work in theory. But in practice, not really.
@SyntheticL
Can I use your cockpit on my 757 projects? Just the hull but only a few instruments. The nose i made is too weird... So i am requesting using your 757's.
Here's an image showing the part I am requesting to use, of course you will get credits.
Nice 747 btw
Indeed you can, I've built two 757's with differing cockpit assemblies: 757-300 RB211, and 757-200 PW2037, you can use either as long as you do not claim the cockpit assemblies as your own. You have my green light.
@Falkenwut
Really like this one in particular! Low part count and fantastic detail! Brilliant job!! Would you be interested in making or joining me to make this model an airborne aircraft carrier?
I appreciate the offer, but I would like to abide by civil transport, though I wish you best of wishes to building that 747 Aircraft Carrier.
@KLM_747
I quite like your designs and the way you conserve parts. I'm a fan of this design, but maybe you could make the flaps have three sections next time? If you don't mind, I'd like to show you a little teaser on what I've been working on. I also made a 747 Wing that you might be interested in, but be warned that one wing is more than this entire aircraft.
P.S. You really should disable drag on decals and other non-essential drag parts.
Perhaps so, but I'm content how the flaps function, though it will be improved upon once I can cull parts from different aspects of a project. Drag wise, it doesn't really improve performance, mainly because all of my builds can run on low physics settings, apart for that Tu-104 project. But I will take note of it for the second time.
ACAS is short for Airborne Collison Avoidance System, although my execution of it is rather crude at best, in basic principle, it utilizes a missile mounted on the nose of the airliner much like a radar dishes in real life airliners, when its activated by AG6, select Air-to-Air and it will detect any aircraft at a 30° cone, and when it does see something, it will blare. Cannot be fired of course, its an airliner, not a fighter jet.
@DeGebra
Jelybaca just out of curiosity, will you start taking build requests again?
Probably not, though there is something in the works, and this time I'll take time to polish the rules out. It's another challenge essentially, and the top prize will be a build & livery request or something of the like.
Probably, once I can find a blueprint that is A) crisp clear, and B) in clean orthographic proportions. Most I found are either blurred or tilted, rendering it useless.
@MadeInIndonesia
Jelybaca can i modify it to another livery
Indeed you can, as long as you do not claim the aircraft model: This 747-200B in this case, as your own, though your livery will be your own work. You have my green light.
Its a Tupolev Tu-184NK, an idea of Unlistedplanes.
@TheSavageManZ
How many hours do you play man?
Also here’s a “complaint” i’ve had for quite long... next time plz make the cockpit interior ACCURATE to the real thing
About an hour because of a more refined building process, using bigger and less parts, and whatnot. My dude, the cockpit functions, if I cater to your standards, my phone, and eventually my laptop would explode. 500 parts for a cockpit is too much for me, let alone 4000 just for the panel, console, and seats. But I’ll see into it and tag you then.
Edit
This might actually be my last project, external obligations and whatnot.
Not really sure but from experience, problems may arise not so much about connection errors but rather spacing issues between parts.
Went back on designer and did try to scale it down. yes it might work and this is how I did it, you don't need to follow only this but it may help:
What I did is use the Fine tuner mod, multi-select, select cockpit part, multi-edit, scale tool, whatever scale required, unchecked Scale Only Selected Parts, Scale.
@piglin no. The reason why I even bothered to type my response in mandarin is because... It just feels rude for me at least, when I have access to one of the most powerful translator ever conceived and yet, yell at them for not speaking English, so I just translate to the language they commented as.
@ThePilotDude as much as I want a more detailed terrain, that is the problem of corruption, every multi textured map I tested never leaves unity, something about tetrahe-something and lots of red fonts, even when its saved cleanly, simpleplanes couldnt load it, error occured it would say. Sorry.
@BurkeEnterprise, Mainly the shores, the topography and the soil. I am in the boonies of Manitoba and I have no idea what Churchill looks like apart from CTV night and Google maps.
Don't radials usually have an uneven number of cylinders per row for timing?
Yep, it very much should, but I still haven't found a way to make a radial with odd amount of cylinders without using the same amount of parts outside of labels.
6th photo in your gallery, what settings did
you use to make that? Would love to know
I used a reshade program, the tutorial is in this link
There's also a setting in the Game Quality settings that I turn on for screenshots; its the Aircraft Reflection, set it to Realtime but be warned, it may lag the game.
This couldn't be a brabazon because the windows are circular, the brabazon has square windows
Darn, I gotta fox that
@asteroidbook345
it's weird it looks pointy and big for a viscount but it's the same shape
Excellent observation, the tail does resemble a Viscount
@SheriffHackdogMCPE
Where is your dc9 ur supposed to make? Is it also 1.11-compliant (With gauges)?
The rear mounted engine (R.M.E) plane is airworthy and really is ready for publication, but alas another project of mine has exceeded 800 parts, and I'm just waiting for the 1.11's new text block in hopes to make it mobile friendly so both could be published together once the big update drops.
The R.M.E will however not be fitted with 1.11 parts to remain compatible with users playing on Simpleplanes 1.9.205, but an unlisted version with the new parts will be made available upon release.
People, most of these are great observations, a valuable trait in planespotting, keep it coming!
@TirpitzWantsPlanes yeah the lag is surreal in Olyoma, however I still have to learn to do LOD so it could lag less. Though lag decreases when shadows are off as far as I know. I apologise for that. But if you are asking to turn off lights in the city to increase device performance, it had no impact during alpha tests whether it was on or off. sorry...
@x3Harrion even if it did came from your friend, you are still at fault for failure to credit, me or them otherwise. You owned up to this build and said its yours even without a single mention of me, or them.
In the Activation Groups, press 4, it should droop up. However, if you are operating the plane in a Simpleplanes version before 1.9.204, its redundant. If you did press 4 and still doesn't articulate, might I suggest to update your Simpleplanes?
