I have tremendous respect for Toyotas. Of all the cars I've owned or driven, Toyotas clearly surpass in terms of reliability. To wealthy people or children yet to drive, this may seem like nothing but speaking as someone who relies on their car to make a living, this is the most important feature a car can have.
I have never driven a Prius, but I can safely say that my Camry was a marvel of industry. Besides, the new Civics are even more ridiculous looking.
@Chancey21 If you intend to tilt the wings, I'd disable control surfaces on the wings while the wing is in the "upward" position and then enable them during normal flight.
It is my duty to inform you that you have been declared a bourgeois class enemy, a puppet of western imperialism and a traitor to the Motherland. Gulag, 10 years.
Awsomur is right. Not only are the necessary engines incredibly loud on their own, but there has yet to be an aircraft sleek enough to pass through the sound barrier without a very loud (and often destructive) boom.
Landing gear can be tricky to make, rotators tend to be a hassle, so try to build moving parts last. A properly build set of landing gear is very satisfying to see, especially as it unfolds, and it's a great way to show people just how skilled you are.
@JelloAircraftCorporation Indian drivers are amazing. I spent a week in Delhi and I was astounded at how well people handle the unbelievable traffic congestion. I do not think I have the nerves or skill to get by in such conditions, but I was mighty impressed. If American and European drivers are airplane pilots, Indian drivers are surely helicopter pilots.
@Spacedoge12345plane I'm just messing with you. You should probably wikipedia search them and compare that way. Your guess is just as likely to be correct as most everyone else on here.
Find a three-view diagram (sometimes called a blueprint or an orthographic).
Each block in Simpleplanes is 0.5 meters. So look up the wing span of the plane (in meters) on wikipedia and multiply that number by two, that's how you figure out many blocks wide the wings should be.
Open up the three-view picture and resize it so that one block is ten pixels. Then you can use the selection tool to measure any part of the plane and easily know what size to make it in the game.
I'm very sorry that happened to you. One of the coolest things about the internet is meeting new people and learning from them, it seems like you were trying to share your knowledge and had it thrown back at you viciously. Youtube is a great source of entertainment, and even a place to learn a thing or two sometimes, but the "culture" there is not so great. While there are plenty of awesome youtubers, many people on there are closed minded, self absorbed and cruel. The idea of becoming a celebrity or have an audience attracts unpleasant human beings sometimes, but don't rule out the rest of humanity too soon. Ok?
Just make what you want, if you make it well then people will like it. If you make things because you think other people will like it then you'll just get bored.
Make moving parts last. If it has a rotator, piston or detacher then add it after everything else is finished. You are wasting time if you do it sooner because you'll just end up having to do it again later.
@TMach5 To tell you the truth, I was considering making a Skyhawk. Ed Heinemann is my favorite aircraft designer by far, and he created the A4, AD-1, A-36, SBD-3 and many more. But the A4 was probably his most enduring design.
Sen McCain was an excellent choice, anyone who could live through something like the Forrestall fire and 5 years in that hellish POW camp deserves to be remembered.
I am pretty sure the wings don't start going crazy until you hit the sound barrier at low altitudes, a place where the plane would tear itself apart in real life. But my memory is hazy, it's been a long time since I've used unmodded wings.
Supersonic wings are tricky. When you're just cruising below the speed of sound it's almost like it's a separate set of rules than when you break the sound barrier.
One of the earliest solutions was the delta wing. A big, symmetric wing that gave no lift at all in level flight, but could give adjustable amounts of lift depending on trim settings.
In other words, if you set the main wings to "symmetric" and the elevators to "trimmable" you can make a plane that flies perfectly level at almost any speed as long as you set the trim properly.
Are you making these planes because you like making them, or because you like upvotes?
You've been making extremely similar planes for over a year now, stretching the nose here, adding a new feature there. Nothing is wrong with that, one of my favorite builders only makes one plane, over and over again. But if you keep making the same thing, you can't expect people to stay interested.
Your planes are not bad. They work pretty good, and you've developed a style. If you want to continue doing that, great! But bear in mind that you are doing that for you, not for your audience.
If you want to get more upvotes, take a look at the work people put in to get them. Check out the "highest rated" for a month or a year. It's a lot of work, and you may prefer to stick with things as they are rather than change everything to impress people you will never meet.
@denialofservice Anonymous voting would lead to abuse, even without it, people have tried to abuse the voting system. As for the rest of the site, there are already plenty of ways for people to see what has been made.
@Solarisaircraft Most players have never posted planes. Ever look at the number of downloads vs number of upvotes? It's not uncommon for a plane with 90 votes to get over 4,000 downloads. The vast majority of players do not create accounts on the website and never upload.
You can tear the landing gear off of one of my planes if you want. You'll probably need to reshape it to fit yours, but it shouldn't be too much trouble.
Like your father and his father before him, you are a pizza delivery guy. You are almost peerless at the trade, but yours is a dying breed. Bandits, drones and people learning how to cook their own food have taken their toll as you try to make your way in the grim future of the former United States.
"Sorry, kid. You're completely wrong. I'm only 666. Three not four. You've just summoned my idiot nephew, Stan. If you can't grasp such a simple concept then you two probably deserve one another."
Whenever I have to make words or some kind of design (flags, logos, whatever) I make it as a separate subassembly, that way if I mess up I can reload it, if I want to paste it to both sides I can, put it on multiple planes, whatever.
Usually I start by measuring how wide it needs to be, then make a thin stick of fuselage blocks (one for each letter to attach) , once all the letters are done, I attach an anchor block and save it as an assumbly.
Usually I have twist and nudge the letters around when I stick it to the plane so they dont stick out too far.
I would like to know more about the dragScale feature as well. Most of my replicas suffer from a preposterous amount of drag, so I have to compensate with preposterously powerful engines. The result? Stupid-fast acceleration under power and barely any acceleration due to gravity.
There, I said it! Just including that one, simple piece would remove decades worth of hours of frustration and instantly inspire thousands of cool builds. It's pretty ridiculous how they've overlooked it for this long, considering how simple such a thing would be.
@Awsomur Perhaps. I don't claim to know much about Korea. I do know that here in the states, they train you for years before you get into a jet like that. Officer school, flight school, designated trainer aircraft like the T-38, all before you even begin to train in an F-15.

OMG the game just needs a friggin cannon.
+2Isn't it satisfying to assemble your own hardware?
+2@FastDan Sometimes its ok to mess with the mass a bit, but it often makes moving parts buggy or floppy.
