@Dimkal Roger out. I'll go with either an aircraft like the EA6-B or maybe the Atlantique II. Either a small fast jet or a medium twin engine patroller.
LOOKS: It looks like an AC-130 on crack. Done the British way. 9/10
HANDLING: Leaves a little to be desired. Turning arc can be somewhat large even if attempting evasive flight, and its STOL can be hampered by the gyro. 17/20.
SURVIVABILITY: Reasonable. It has C/Meas and is more than capable of outflying some craft. However, I'd not n venturing it into got airspace unescorted. 7/10.
FUNCTIONALITY: All in order. Everything works as described. 9/10.
WEAPONS DELIVERY: Unique. No other pure gunships were entered making this adaption special. It can easily wipe the floor with ANYTHING. I think I screwed up though, I managed to blow the fuselage art of the wings off with the heavy gun. Slight issue. 45/50.
TOTAL: 90/100
Nice design, and easily outperforming a number of other entries in the competition. As a gunship. Nicely done indeed...
LOOKS:Sleek, modern and incredibly capable. Also, I like the addition of the LANTIRN pod on the port underside of the cockpit. 8/10.
HANDLING: Nice handling at low speeds, felt comfortable and not scary at all to manoeuvre right down to stall speed. Turning circle was quite wide BUT that was with full payload. 16/20.
SURVIVABILITY: Reasonable manoeuvrability combined with the presence of C/Meas would give this aircraft a fighting chance against both ground and air aggressors. However, it is kinda slow. I know, for a ground-pounder to work it normally has to be slow, but ~520mph without payload is asking for a bouncing by OPFOR. 7/10.
FUNCTIONALITY: Flaps functional, as is the custom gear (nice), cockpit view works well. The rocket pod activation is unique and I frickin' LOVE IT. Nice job on hiding the airbrakes too. 8/10.
WEAPONS DELIVERY: No questions asked, this aircraft can deliver pain with any single strike. Even a simple gun-run was able to take out the target, so its additional ordnance would likely easily achieve the aim. 48/50.
TOTAL: 87/100
Nicely designed, and functions like I'd expect an aircraft of this type and appearance to do so.
What he said \/. Not a bad plane, Win can be hard to build on compare to touchscreen, though more detailed builds are always going to get a lot of attention. (Check @Kerbango 's page out for proof).
@FlyGuy2022 Shouldn't do... leaving a double wheel at the back and making sure there isn't any asymmetry should fix that. Otherwise, regard it as realistic handling. The Camel was known as a b!!!h to fly and scary...
Potentially stupid question, but can the trainer aircraft/s be single seaters? Trying to fenagle a canopy into place, but getting it in place with two seats in tandem config is proving difficult 😅
Not a bad update to the airframe mate. Tempting to make a few alterations, especially to the gyro so that it is automatically disengaged at a flying airspeed. Possibly even change to a single barrel for the cannon.
She flies.well though, although landings are interesting due to the narrow wheelbase.
Okay, so a couple of things from me:
- Love the styling, it looks pretty good.
- Thrust Vectoring could use some work, as sudden or sharp pitch changes can easily end the jet into a spin. Maybe limit the thrust vectoring a bit or something?
@MrHoboDuck You say that, but look at how little attention the build garnered.
Problem is that this site feels... niché-y. If it ain't a replica or by an established builder... it seems to go by unnoticed. I have that problem, at least.
@Sadboye12 Thanks! It was a nightmare getting the wings to work reliably, every time I made certain changes it broke the variable sweep functionality. Glad you liked it.
Having the Thunderbirds Theme playing in the background would be very appropriate, lining up those bombers at the base of a runway and jetting all four off the tarmac at once.
@Stormfur I've gotten my plane down to 1.32 at the moment consistent.
Play around with a design and see what works, then gradually tweak and improve. I mean, I'm on about my 15th version of the design I'm going to enter and I still have improvement work to do :)
@Stormfur I'm using props, kind of. Got 4 turbojets and a twin prop contra-rotating at the front. And they do make a difference as far as my testing shows.
@Stormfur but of course they are. I might have to tweak my modified P-51 a bit and give it some more oomph, teach these peasant vacuum cleaners something about flying.
Actually no! I'm going to make a hybrid! Muahahaha!
Now all we need's a bank wall with a killroy and 'Up Yours Baby' on it.
+1@Dimkal Roger out. I'll go with either an aircraft like the EA6-B or maybe the Atlantique II. Either a small fast jet or a medium twin engine patroller.
+1"Not...bad, for a...human."
+1Behold, the only biplane to ever take down a fighter jet (F86) in combat.
+1Take THAT, Capitalism!
Instantly makes me think of Goldeneye's opening scene...
+1@Misha1004 we all know the postman delivers bad news. So does this post man... 12 bundles of bad news hahaha
+1Tail happy is good. Clarkson would have a FIELD DAY with this!
+1@Tully2001 my thoughts exactly, although this has a slightly higher part count (301 as opposed to the original @Russkiy98 build at 277 parts )
+1LOOKS: It looks like an AC-130 on crack. Done the British way. 9/10

It handles horribly, so handling too is completely authentic to spec ;) sweet build anyway my friend!
+1Who forgot @MailboxIsMyGender 's meds?
+1@Strikefighter04 I think so, I only recently unlocked the barnfinds feature. It's a stunner here...
+1For a redesign of the starter planes, this actually looks pretty nice!
Looks kinda like an A-26. Minus guns galore.
+1That song is good, but I prefer This

What's that doing here? Get it back to Star Wars/ BSG where it belongs!
+1There are a few major issues I have with this aicraft:
The tailplane flutter is TREMENDOUS. I can't get weapons on target because of it.
Overall handling is pretty poor.
This is based on a 400mph+ jet. I have A BIPLANE that can probably outrun this aircraft.
Solve those issues and I may consider upvoting the build.
+1What he said \/. Not a bad plane, Win can be hard to build on compare to touchscreen, though more detailed builds are always going to get a lot of attention. (Check @Kerbango 's page out for proof).
+1Egypt called, they want you to stop letting the Israelis use these bad boys to vaporise their airfields :p sweet build
+1I feel the need...
The need for SPEED.

+1Go home Russia, you're drunk!
+1But an upvote nonetheless for a wacky design.
By damn, you actually managed it. I'll give her a spin (hopefully not literally) when I get in tonight.
+1I'll give you your due that beast actually looks the part
+1This plane up? God i love the look of her!

Anyway, pretty decent little flyer.
Should it not be a 109Z? 😛
Is it required that the entry is a replica? Nothing mentioned direct in the rules.
Ah, the Six Burning Four Turning.
Or, as it became known, Two Burning, Two Turning, Two Smoking, Two Choking, Two Unaccounted For. Nice build!
Quite helpful, just a little hard for me to keep up with in the "connect the rotators" part.
Rebuilding them all?
I've got a neat little project/build as the opponent in a Challenge coming up soonish.
MiG-28*
Seriously, nice and clean build!
Laughs in Concorde
Seriously slick looking build mate. Nice work! I may download later but not while on data :p

@erikfarmer Read the rules.
"Do not post unedited reuploads of other users' crafts."
@TheBoeingEngineer He said Overload was allowed and hasn't specified anything beyond that so... I'd go with a little up-armouring.
@Jim1the1Squid
There's a fair number of aircraft in reality with a similar design, take for example the McDonnell F-4 Phantom.
@SimpleScydra If it hasn't been modified in any way from his build, no, as that'd be against the site rules.
If possible, I'd consider making a Mod-Free version of this as well as some of us don't use or have the ability to use mods.
@CRJ900Pilot woulda been cool, but sadly no RAF or commonwealth markings worked like that, always Letter-Roundel-Letter-Letter :/
Count me in, I have an idea or two for it...
EDIT: Maybe not, think this build will melt my phone .-.
Could you consider a mobile-friendly version of the challenge sometime please?
How do you get the ability to put the information etc on the screenshot?
