@ErichVonLudendorff Good news, the Scorpene is coming along well, got a body built and its workings in order. Next will come the torpedoes, the new F21 being the choice of weapon.
@ErichVonLudendorff I am aware of that, and it hasn't started yet given I've had this and another request. But I can get started on the body very soon!
@MarinoYeet It's coming along, some issues with its working have resulted in some delays but it should come along soon. If you'd like I could give it an earlier release when its done as opposed to the usual Friday.
.
Also it might be released simply as an LA flight 3 class, since from the pics I've the Annapolis doesn't seem to have any distinguishing marks that visually set it apart from others of its class. Unless you'd like to to put the '760' on the sail as I've seen on some (non photograph) pics.
Have a look at my Whiskey Long Bin if you may ;) You'll probably have more fun with it on the surface, but still...submarine! Great video btw, showcases the builds well with a nice soundtrack!
@MarinoYeet Will do! That'll be fun to make, not only will I finally make the Mark 48 torpedo, but I'll add some harpoons since the Flight 3 has a VLS!
@JDog3106 "Cannons" brings to mind a submarine from the ww2-very early 1950's submarines with deck guns. As for missiles, there are various kinds of missiles you can install.
@randomusername Wow, hehe. The Control surfaces do use very wide wings scaled down to size for ensuring responsive control, so I imagine that might make this thing glide well.
@randomusername That's used for the ballast system, which uses a floating (and detatched) VTOL engine alongside internally installed nozzles to simulate ballast control. I am thinking of eventually making an internal rotator propeller engine to replace it.
At some point I'm going to make a flying submarine, which due to how I make submarines would likely beat everything at this challenge. Given it'll essentially have no limit to how low it can go XD
@randomusername Just your standard Image search XD Really. In my case specifically on Ecosia, because I like the idea of planting trees through web browsing.
If you can download the Overload Mod, there's a more elegant yet simple way to make submarines surface and dive. It involves the use of a piston with its range extended past the normal limit, with the extending end holding a very small fuselage piece with its Buoyancy set to a very high number.
. This is one example of a submarine which uses the system. As for propulsion, these kinds of submarines typically use a VTOL engine kept above the water either by a piston or a detached floating block. With a separate VTOL nozzle installed in the sub for the main propulsion. The idea being that the VTOL engine is kept above the water, allowing it to power the nozzle and push the sub even while its submerged.
.
Of course there's my way, but that's a rather complicated method which would require its own forum post to properly detail.
@Aviationary Thanks for the compliment, though don't feel too bad. These things have come only after over 1600 hours of playing this game, using XML modding, then disovering and refining a few clever methods found in a couple of the top submarines in this game :)
@Berna Now that's a worthy submarine for me to Remaster, it's the first submarine I've ever built! And one I went on to make fully steerable. But I've yet to give it the refined, full function I give to my current submarines. Plus I'd give it some torpedoes as well!
Glad I managed to get this thing working for you. Turns well even without the lower fin in the rear, and the lack of which makes this thing do well in shallow water. It can even come out of Maywar Water Takeoff and head right out to sea! The gun's also a nice bonus, and it's pretty nicely colored too.
@Gameboi14 Some peeps might not wish to, I got the idea from Minecraftpoweer who originally devised the upvote and comment shortcuts. Also sorry I only had Wikipedia XD Couldn't find any other good sources online.
Setting 'ammo' for the flares in xml to a really high number can give you the closest to unlimited flares. As for the other two I don't believe that's possible.
Oh! A third option is to build a manually guided rocket, like the ones used on this build. Basically taking a rocket and using the typical method of making custom weapons to add wings with control surfaces.
.
Since Rockets are unaffected by water, and control surfaces work even when detached from the craft, this kind of weapon is fully functional and can easily be launched submerged.
I have a couple solutions to this issue. One comes in the form of using normal missiles in a submarine by keeping them out of the water. The other is in the form of AG launched Ballistic Missiles. If you want you could give either of these a try. That said, a Mod which gets rid of weapon disappearance below 60 feet would be awesome!
@CRJ900Pilot MinecraftPoweer Originally devised it, you take the upvote link (https://www.simpleplanes.com/Post/Upvote/) and add the id for your craft to it. Copying the link found on the submit button for comments will give you the number.
We had a good dinner of chili cheese hamburgers, after one time going to see the fireworks it was quite the hassle so we didn't end up doing much sadly. But it was a good day then otherwise.
The Ekranoplan really is such a marvel of engineering. Given it lifts yet can't fly like an airplane it's almost like a true 50/50 split hybrid between a boat and a plane. Neither truly a boat, nor fully an airplane. Just watching one in action in a video is awesome to see.

+1@toxicgamer88 Thank you! The lesser popularity of submarines on this site was part of what motivated me to pursue building and improving them.

+1@Gestour Thanks for making it ;)
+1@TheFantasticTyphoon That could be an interesting build, I'll consider adding it to my requests

+1@randomusername Thanks! Built straight off a blueprint with DesignerSuite. I hope you get it fixed!
+1The Beast Carrier and Destroyers also disappear when sunk in much the same way.
+1@AlexIsDaBoss I'll consider it, sailboats haven't been a thing of interest for me though. Thanks for the compliment!

+1@Nobodygood Minecraftpoweer is the one responsible for inventing that neat trick, I added a bit of my own spin to it.
+1@Gameboi14 Visiting my aunt, swimming, going to six flags hurricane harbor, fun summer stuff.

+1@Gameboi14 True, but there's always the possibility of battling for the crown ;)
+1@Stargazzer Hope that works!

+1@thefalkenreich Ooooh a Gato Class, well lucky for you in the interest of consistent time periods in uploads I'll make that right after the Surcouf!
+1Really nicely designed and built submarine, and well armed too. It was nice running submerged in my Golf alongside this thing in MP. :)
