Are you supposed to be able to gain altitude without the pre-rotor? You say "forward momentum, which is transferred to the rotor's RPM, which is used to maintain altitude," but I can't seem to maintain or gain altitude unless I use it like a helicopter with pre-rotor to get the RPM's up, then dispel that pre-rotor energy by increasing collective.

I know it's an old post, but this is the best plane in the game imo. Covers all of the game's major aspects, low part count, and good looking. Can't find a better build.
@BaconEggs The ship always seemed to large. I built a meassuring device that might help. Maybe attach it to a helicopter. There's also this flat version
Feedback 4: During slow mode takeoffs, I just noticed when the irl plane takes off a carrier, it’s sensors actually know when the plane is about to fall off the carrier and deflects the rear wings ahead of time to avoid that dip in altitude. The one you made (assuming it’s rate based) does not. One way to implement this is by also checking the cockpit’s altitude which is at the nose of the airplane in order to deflect the rear wings before falling off the carrier.
My comment under this post:
These weapons lock even when target is obstructed, something regular missiles can’t do. What method is used to steer the bombs? Edit: The missile method. You attached a bomb having the same name as the missile to the plane (with activation group -1), thereby letting you fire the missile even if target is obstructed. It is also necessary that the bomb be closer to the center of the plane than the missile so that the bomb “fires first” even though it doesn’t release. The missiles will launch one after the other as long as the all missile’s activation group is: -FireWeapons
Awesome! Wish I knew about that sooner.
Feedback 3: In real life, it has to dump fuel in order to achieve hover weight (around 30% fuel remaining I think), forcing it to refuel on the ground or in the air after VTOL operation.
- Cockpit has auto eject system when it spins out of control.

You alpha limited it to 15? When building it, how uncontrollable was it at 30 and 50 WITH YOUR fly by wire? Real world alpha limits make my F-35B uncontrollable and is why I stopped working on it. My last post 7 months ago is actually asking for help solving this lol
If you watch a flight demo on YouTube I counted a 14.4 second sideways loop. Has anyone been able to do this?
Edit: Strip plane of weapons, go 1000 mph at 1000 feet above sea level. Trim all the way down, turn off G and AoA limiter, and pitch hard the whole way. I got around a 14 sec horizontal loop.
Might help if you use rate(user input) = 0 or maybe < 0.05. Then you can not use battery when the control surface is still because that’s how pistons consume power right? Move liquid, then stop.
The coolness factor is through the roof oh my ghosh. Whats it’s max turn rate? I hope that is realistic. If you watch a flight demo on YouTube I counted a 14.4 second sideways loop. So a turn rate of 25 degrees/second in conventional flight mode.
@11qazxc Wow, thank you! I didn't think anyone would. My current theory is in real life, it heavily uses body lift for low airspeed maneuvering. 🤔
Edit: I meant airflow over the plane caused by the engine exhaust sucking air around the plane’s body, moving it towards the rear.

You stall at a fixed indicated airspeed.
Mass does not change the stall angle of attack. However it does change the indicated airspeed that stall occurs. So fly the plane and see what the IAS is when it stalls.
@lemoose I haven’t tested it but I think the fix is for all the if variables like VTOL>0 & GearDown? Blah: blah blah need to be clamped between 0-1. It’s a weird fix but often helps. So it should be (clamp01(VTOL>0) & clamp01(GearDown))? Blah: Blah blah. Using ceil() might help too.
@WNP78 oh boy 😂
Wind zone? Is that what I think it is? Automatically changing wind conditions?
Is there an option for wind settings to change by itself over time?

Make a FedEx color variant. I want to fly along side cargo planes without making them uneasy.
Aaaaaaawesoooooome
You have some really creative builds

@ReinMcDeer Yeah it's the best airport plugin mod I've seen in this game.

@MrCOPTY This didn't work for me :/

What mod gives you that city in the background?
@keechmyth You can set the missile property: maxSpeed equal to INF to get rid of smoke. But it will accelerate to infinite speed

@Kendog84 Oh that’s an even cooler idea! Nah no ideas from me. Like you, I want these things in game.

@32 If the engine gets damaged you can still have fuel left. You should check if engine thrust = 0 and if throttle > 0
@Kendog84 Did you ever build that refuel truck you were talking about?
You added viffing no way ha ha also thanks for putting the refuel boom on for us
Hey can someone share a post of a plane that was built using this mod?
Hmm…ok. You’re good. You might be as good as @MrZa. He made an awesome F-35B in 182 parts.
@Yourlocalhuman For real. Jundroo should pay Kendog for this build lol
@IDNSatyaSlebew You can spawn in the ocean. Look around in the pause menu and you’ll find out how

@MAPA Even planes with gear? Wow. Ok then. Thx
Have you noticed if ai treat gearless planes differently like this seaplane?
If it has more than 6 wings it won't work with ai according to MAPA's recently released ai guide
“Pave Penny” lol. This plane is better than meets the eye.

It’s so funny that the military uses a farm tractor for elite stealth operations.
Color scheme looks great!
