@Gestour With a bit more experimenting, it still sinks if you go below ~45 ft, and it's still kinda odd about 1/3 the time. I'm just chalking it up to unreliable 1940 era torpedo technology...
But the attaching of the buoyant part is still a major improvement over what it had been.
To achieve stability in this game you don't need to resort to gyroscopes, mods, FTs or outlandish jury-rigging.
.
Just make sure that you center of mass (CoM) is far enough in front of your center of lift (CoL). If need be, editing the mass of parts using XML is the easiest way of doing so. Put the CoM too far in-front of the CoL and either the nose will pitch down constantly or the aircraft will oddly shudder a bit.
.
Also, try keeping the center of thrust (CoT) in line with both the CoM and CoL.
.
It gets really easy once you learn where the "sweet spots" are on a particular build.
.
There is a tool in the builder that allows you to see where your CoM, CoL and CoT are on your craft. This overlay is your friend!
@Imjustanordinarydude
Can you use glass and how many parts can you take? I use a moderately nice rig, so a few of my unpublished builds get up to 2100 parts. This one is only 500.
@BLU3SCLU3S
I love World-building. It's something I do pretty mush all the time, especially with my artwork and a novella I'm working on. As I'm building these airplanes, I tend to make up stories about them, so that's all these write-ups are: just me with fictional factions, histories and designs. Though if someone wants to use them for a Roleplay, they're welcome to!
.
I've had difficulty with auto-aim turrets, any help on those would be appreciated!
@Brencool35
Thanks!
.
Hidden in the fuselage is a weight/piston apparatus that keeps the center of mass in place when the 3K lbs payload is dropped. Not quite the same feel/performance as before, but it helps!
@HTTPCREATION1O2
The Federation Federalists would like to join you. For Freeeeeedom!

+1Thanks! Inspired by the Bf 110 and Dornier Do 17 for design.
Useful!

I've got an unpublished version with significant upgrades/ added features, thinking of posting it as a ground-attack variant...
+1Is there a way to make lights activate due to time of day?

+1Umm, how does it walk if there's no joints? It just falls over...
+1@captainhall Thanks!
+1Thanks, I'll keep that in mind! @BurkeEnterprise
+1@MAHADI Thanks!
BIG BOOM
@Samflugzeugpanzer
Thanks!
WOW
Killed my machine!
!!!
@JuanShot2Go I must say I love your profile avatar.
@Hedero Thanks, it's certainly been one of my more intensive builds. I equate the low response to not being around for nearly a year...
@Levi124 Thanks!
@Type2volkswagen
Thanks!
@Dathcha Heh, costs too much!
Really nice!
I really ought to enter the challenge...
@Andragalang
Best I could do on something like this is 500, since there's a LOT going on.
Brilliant livery!
Deadline? It'll be nice to have a little time to make it look great.
@Gestour
.
Found an issue with the other one, this one is fixed!
You would've received 3rd.
@Gestour Oops, guess I missed it when I scrolled through the entries!
Beautiful!
@Dest35
No problem, I like building working turrets!
Huh! Does this have any advantages over the actual sphere part?
Nice! My grandfather used to have a Farthing.
Powered by hinges?
@TheNightmareCompany
Thanks for the up-votes! It wasn't for a challenge I forgot about entering, was it?
Impressive!
Just goes BOOM on the runway. Too much thrust above the CoL/CoM.
Can the ships have FTs or moving hinges, etc and are there any restrictions to how they're powered?
Honorary Mention!
@Macrophage Sorry to hear that. You can try again in my next challenge (announcing soon!) though...

@Type2volkswagen Huh. Thanks for the heads up!
@Tookan
Huh! Looks like I need to make the "manual" a bit clearer and improve the cockpit a bit.

Thanks!
