I made a plane missile proof by disabling collision response on all parts. I also increased the health on everything. After that I could crash it into anything and get hit by multiple missiles and survive. It didn’t work all the time but most of the time it did.
I have an idea but either the seat is too tall or the wheels are too small, can I change one of those? If not, then can I stick larger wheels onto the frame and leave the old ones there?
Maybe you could make the input for the hinge rotator v>(target speed for wing flex). But that is to make it work above a specific speed. To make the rotator work below a specific speed, use v<(speed). Yeah, I’m not sure if this is going to work, but I guess it’s worth a shot...
Oh no... my planes have slowed down to a minute flat! I am currently testing 2 other racers and perfecting all at once. Whichever one seems the most promising will get the most attention, and the best overall will compete. So far my fastest time was 0:57. I wanna get that time but reliably now, and maybe even faster if I can. Does anybody know why the AI controller just crashes the planes if I make them too maneuverable or fast? Any techniques?
Ummm, are we even allowed to use air brake propulsion? I have extremely fast times, but my plane doesn’t even have a prop on it? Is this pushing it too far?
@AndrewGarrison
Can I use xml to change the input of an air brake from 1 to -1 for the challenge? I tried it and checked it with the tournament validator thing, and it was good, but I don’t know if it counts as xml in this case.
Oof, I’m getting consistent 1:29s. I have been focusing mainly on maneuverability though... Time for more speed (evil laugh). Even if I don’t do too well I don’t mind though. I will be happy if I can pass the first round.
The partCollisionResponse changes how parts react to collisions. Changing the value from “default” to “none” or “0” will make the part basically collision proof. I did it on a whole plane once and it survived over 5 missile hits.
Well, after about 3 days of work I have a flyable plane but without LG or any decorations. Part count is still at 60 so I got a lot of work to do. This is my most difficult project so far and it is pushing my limits and forcing me to use new skills from my last project. So far this is a really fun challenge and I think that when I am done I will be a much better builder! Thanks @Diloph !
Also I’m building an F9F Panther
@Diloph
I am in the process of making a plane that had cannons on it, but I don’t want to use the cannon part for a few reasons (the sound is not that realistic, they only fire one at a time, I would have to turn off the predictor just to fly it properly without a big green thing). Can I just use guns without losing points? It would be difficult to tell the difference anyways.
@Diloph
I’m not sure if I should join yet since I’m not a very good builder. I will start building a bit and if it is going well I will decide if I am going to join.
Huh, I tried that and it didn’t work. I will just try using my old method of looking closely at an image and then trying to make the same thing in the game. Thanks for the help though!

Edit: actually I changed my mind to 2
It actually doesn’t matter, I just reported this.
+1Is this made by @randomusername
Or is it a copy?
@thecrusader
How do you report posts? There are a few copies that I would like to report.
I did this once and you have to complete the whole process on EVERY part of the thing that you are making.
+1Was something supposed to happen?
@vcharng
The plane seems to work fine after getting hit

@Subnerdica
Whoa..........
I have actually forgotten the controls to one of my own planes before... This would be helpful.
I can get a minute flat fairly reliably. Trying to get the time down and make it reliable at the same time tho
@VeryUnprofession
Oh... That’s odd...
I’m not a gold user but maybe I could help...
+1It’s possible to see unlisted planes if they search it or look at your profile... Or maybe you forgot to make it unlisted?
Which challenge is this for?

Thunderbirds:)
But the blue angels tho
Actually... I don’t know if this works with specifically TAS. Sorry.

I have just used some new techniques to get my plane under 1 minute! Now I just have to keep on tuning it to go faster.
You have to make the input for the airbrake v<(needed top speed).

I passed a million feet multiple times and never saw anything. How high was this?

+1@Dadijeepa
+1I’m not sure about that. I don’t think that it’s possible.
Somehow it weighs over 6000 pounds loaded...

@DerekSP
Where are you?
@Irrandan
Just go to the mods menu in the game and turn on overload. It is for xml
Maybe I should tag a mod in this? Would it help?

Ok thanks.

Can I use XML modding? Also, what does 600/100 part count mean? Is it minimum 100 and max 600?

Thanks to everybody who upvoted/spotlighted this plane!
@Mustang51 Thanks!
+1If you build this, then tag me in it. It would be so cool!
I somehow managed to fly this on my iPad. It flies surprisingly well and I really like it! Nice job!
+1Huh, I did the same thing 3 times and all I got was the message, but no ship.
I think that it’s normal. It happens to me when my planes go too fast.
