I actually listened to a "documentary" about this. Essentially speaking, if looks and realism are your cup of tea, Flyout is the better choice, but if you like creative freedoms, experimentation, dogfighting and more, SimplePlanes wins.
Plus, from what I've seen, SimplePlanes certainly is simple compared to Flyout, which is quite charming.
That, and I doubt I can make a half-decent A-40B Havoc II in Flyout. SimplePlanes may not be perfect (as close as it comes), but at least I can make unstoppable planet destroyers!
@WaterFlavouredSpitfires @dekanii @G2
Honestly that makes sense when you think about it, jealousy is natural
But on that last part WaterFlavouredSpitfires said...
"But to guess why PEA Aircraft are disliked is probably just the same trend being so occurrent over a period of time and some users getting Hundreds of upvotes for an Aircraft that took about 4 Minutes to build than others would see in their entire Account’s lifespan."
I wouldn't be too sure about that. I myself have never seen a PEA surpass 100 upvotes, but even then, they sure as heck don't take 4 minutes to make. Call me a no-lifer, but it's taken me days to make some PEAs even when working for several straight hours. If anything, I think the issue isn't actually upvotes, it's that people translate "low part" to "low quality," and if the community is gonna be like that, just delete mobile. PEAs might be fun, but there's actually people out there who can barely enjoy the game without low-on-parts aircraft (take an example; I main on iPad and occasionally use PC, but my relatively new phone can barely even handle Vertigo)
I'm not tolerating this.
@AndrewGarrison
We need help
Where are the mods and devs
I'm calling the CAS even if its worthless
We're not leaving a brother/sister behind
@SuperSuperTheSylph Yea the "new age PEAs" are much more chill
I specify that it's plural because there was also Supermarine Attacker; Sabrehog Swarm was probably the most infamous thing I did in the PEAverse, but there was also the Attacker who tried to destroy the world out of spite for me forgetting to build him for like 4 months. He didn't gain as much popularity though for two reasons:
1. It was towards the end of the original TUPL-PEA Era
2. His defeat, if even worth calling it that, was comically anticlimactic, he accidentally rammed the XF-90 whilst trying to shoot it down. Sabrehog swarm didn't really have a big-bang-ending either but at least it kinda makes sense since the idea was that they'd be easy to repel once we got aircraft that could fight them. Plus we hit their factories (the MiG-P-51s were surprisingly good at CAS) so they couldn't mass-produced the supercharged-Sabre.
Back to Attacker's fatal mishap, the penetration fighter was actually fine, being that it had already survived nuclear bombs by this point, but the Attacker on the other hand was vaporized. But like I said, he did come back (bro used a Universal Backup) and now he's just chilling. Probably helps that he's now the very first NAP (new age PEA)
Good ol' M-War ships, those never get old
Speaking of which, we're approaching the one-year mark for the M-War (first official article on it was March 15, 2024), and there's been a lot of discussion in the MDA about a second M-War...
Think you and @Monarchii are up for it? Don't worry if we are doin' another M-War we're still gonna have the Anti-OP/Meme Treaty so no instant A-40D raid or something like that lol
@L1nus Not precisely, PEA aircraft are (intended to be) at or below 96 parts, usually with the goal of using as few parts as possible, but it's still a very good plane :D
A less recognized Superfortress, but a good one nonetheless. This is probably within the first 10 I've seen here, and potentially the first 5 I've seen built during my time. Great build bro :D Take my upvote and spotlight
Also, my XF-90 is sweating profusely right now...
For context, the only "surviving" Lockheed XF-90 was victim to being a nuclear test target three times. I can't seem to find any straightforward statements on what dropped the nuke, since I doubt it was a nuclear missile test, but after sourcing and comparing dates, I can safely assume it was a Boeing B-50 much like this one that dropped the nukes. I could be wrong, but I believe this is so.
Edit: Well, now I feel stupid, but for the better XD. I did in fact find a source, two of them. It was in fact the B-50 that nuked the XF-90 lol
@Mosquitowithagun The weird part is that said dream introduced me to the Manta
Unlike other planes, I hadn't even known of the X-44's existence prior to that dream. Only difference is that it was the F-44 in my dream... Yes, it was so beautifully haunting that I remember it in full detail to this day
@SimplPleyns @Marulk
Boeing727200F explained it, but basically this guy went on a toxicity blitz, spamming profanity and other unspeakable things in just like an hour. His account was deleted either by the owner or mods, I'm assuming the owner since the alleged main account was unscathed.
Okay but like
Y're not gonna apologize and delete your comments?
'Cuz like
There's still at least 500 repetitions of a racist slur across the SP comments right now
@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26
In order...
1. Derecho Mk.XIb/L, BASED OFF OF some blueprints I drew while bored, but not exact to the blueprints.
2. The Type 44 Monsoon, intended for the Otesk War, but it never showed up, so after (in the lore) 92 years, it got reactivated and saw brief but effective service in the S-War.
3. P45K Wooden Warrior, a joke plane made entirely of wood with a needlessly elaborate frame.
4. B-7B Precise Strike, the little gremlins who have been giving the RCF death by papercut in the S-War up until now.
5. I think we all know who this guy is (if you don't you're gonna need to catch up on like.. all of the war articles, this guy- both specifically him and his brothers- served in literally every war we've fought XD)
6. Droneshed, I forgot the official designation lol
And I have 48 hours to post them all or else Duolingo will besiege my house :)
Can't look ig right now, but soon
In the meantime, here are some potential ideas
-No need for fancy code with a bunch of variables and whatnot, just use simple code with multiple rotators, sort of like this.
-Remove drag from all parts, but don't remove mass.
USING A TEXT LABEL FOR THE FUSELAGE IS INSANE BRO
+12Attack the D Point!!
+8I need to borrow Zerø's PEA F-22 real quick
+6Don't worry I have zerø malicious intent :)
@SBACERT idk, I thought it does, it’s just insane bc it’s smart, effective, creative, etc. lol
+6I feel like there was some intent for having the laughing one loosely point at mine lol
+5You know what I'll just be unique like that

+5Why does it look like something straight out of Skibidi toilet lol
Is the kraken in mobile?
