Nice) by the way, it was first created as tu-22m trainer. And i think nose is a bit shorter and wider, with more squareish bottom. Btw, it was able to carry some of the tu-22m weapons under the fuselage - some smaller bombs and cruise missiles, how about you add them in an update?
P.s. sorry for no updates on tu-114, job overload. 1/3 through the landing gear.
So far, it totally seems promising. Though its a pity it's basically finetuned for a particular plane and uses VTOL, as it is useful for other controlls. It doesn't correct roll yet? And there was a common problem - when getting your example plane on high angle of attack, it may freak out and start pitching up in a circle. But still - i really like how it works! P.S. may be it would be better to use Trim instead of VTOL?
Nice! It's a pity i didnt upload a new version in time. i made a totally cool AG only - activated airbrakes, theyre much easier to control. I'll send you in the evening, so you can update this one with a new livery. And i also has a classic radome nose for it
@JoshuaW I will be totally waiting for that. Thats what the devs should have made instead of a gyro. And if you will be able to allow it to use as a complete autopilot (say tell the plane to climb to a desired height and heading) - it will be awesome! And if you will be able to add autothrottle (so you set the desired speed and plane controlls throttle automatically)
BTW, a sneak peak of my new project:
.
https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/jWS886/Tupolev-Tu-114-fuselage-0-193
.
P.S. the stand is for testing if it tends to roll. Very useful. Spawn at Wright and set wind to 180 degrees and 200 mph. A rotator is in fuselage at CoG.
.
P.P.S. Check a new flexible wing)
It allowed me to make flawless 3 input interceptors, so when i activate em as ground spoilers at full deployment, it cancels out input as inflight airbrakes (half deployment), and when they are used as airbrakes, it changes roll control in spoileron mod, so instead of moving a spoiler further up for roll (it is barely rolls the plane when spoilers deployed), it instead closes the spoiler on the opposite side. You'll see the mechanism when i finish my Convair CV-880
Do you have two flexible wing segments and two segment flap? That happened on my m-4. I had to add free moving horisontal rotators before and after the pistons of the outbord flap segment, so it can slide left-right along the wing trailing edge. Also make sure that powered rotators are alligned nicely along the wing. Disassemble my m-4 flaps for an example.
also, as mentioned below - reduce flap weight, that wont help with this problem, but is useful. Also try making wing unflexible in xml - change wing-3 name to wing-2. or try flexible if it is rigid (-2) now)))
@ChiChiWerx i think my planes are underrated because i tend to make them as realistic as possible and thus they are heavy, hard to fly and have a lot of controls) but thanks a lot for you words))
@MethaManAircraft - fell free to ask if you need help with making landing gear doors. I also found how to make doors that open and close back each time you lower or retract landing gear
Its great, but for some reason, the runway is kinda bouncy, all my planes landing gear start to bounce like on a rocky road, and tend to brake when nearing 150 mph
@asteroidbook345 Hi! I got into some troubles after scaling your tu-154 to a proper size. How about we make an intermediate project first? I have a good model of tu-104, and initially, tu-154 was developed as tu-104d-3, it was never built and looked like a tu-154, but with a simpler flaps, no spoilers (it had a big singe airbrake below the fuselage) and it is slightly smaller, as it utilises tu-104 wings and fuselage. How about we make it first as a training?
@asteroidbook345 Yeah, you re right... Well, anyway gonna upload a completely finished one in a week-two, with full animated cockpit interior and livery.
@grantflys sorry, was too eager to boast it working) it was doing all sorts of strange things in development) i will get back home in a few hours and reupload. Or just move the hull with finetuner and set roll and pitch inputs in gyro to 0
@DemoNn Dam you re right. I missed the mid turret completely) But for Konig - it misses front funel anyway. Its more like bayern with a turret in place of a funnel. And you are also right, Sachsen was third in a series by the date it was laid down.
btw, i still have a Konig (actually, a Grosser Kurfurst) class model somwhere in my old apt.
@Camroncs Thanks a lot! I will fiish this one in some time)
If you say about procedures for flying - i made it that way so it feels more real, kind of enchances experience) Check my other planes) I will soon release final versions of Tu-104 and Convair CV-880. Making a cockpit interior for a Convair now
Cities Skylines kinda left me disappointed. Dunno why, it seems like a descent game, but still lacks something important in gameplay. It should be better, both by graphics and details in gameplay, but older simsity was more pleasant to play...
@ShatSlanger @ChiChiWerx
Thanks a lot! It pretty much is soviet style, i think its due to soviet cockpit from tu-134, i had not changed it yet) May be i'll leave it more or less the way it is, just to show commonality with my other creations) Anyway, in the design, i wanted to blend tu-144 with su-27
It is great! And i like that you've made landing gear doors like me. Just one recomendation - may be you make flaps and ailerons like i do - with two wing panels so the wing has a realistic sharp trailing edge instead of rounded?
@Dimkal it was a great looking plane. a pitty the project never took off due to american lobby of f-111, which turnet out to be inferior and even more expensive...

@JoshuaW I'm already looking)
Looks promising!
First ever?)))

And this one is not probably the first either)

Nice modell! But its almost twice smaller than it should. It was around 120m long
@ChiChiWerx thanks!!!

Bloody hell!!!! This is freaking amasing!!!!!!!
BTW, how you add screenshots in the description?
so you did it) Looks extremely pretty!
@Kerbango So, if anybody needs, the string is simple:
.
zeroOnDeactivate="true" in a InputController.State section, like following:
.
<Part id="13135" partType="HingeRotator-1" position="-5.538485,4.061267,-6.644369" rotation="2.502312,150.2056,266.8441" drag="0.0005835054,0.0005835054,0.002,0.002,0.04119694,0.001085937" materials="3,3,3" scale="0.2999999,0.3,0.3">
<InputController.State activationGroup="1" invert="true" min="0" max="1" input="Activate3" zeroOnDeactivate="true" />
<JointRotator.State range="20" speed="0.2" />
</Part>
.
+1@Kerbango i'll write down the exact command later
Nevermind) zeroondeactivate works)
+3Agree
totally!

The drawer is probably more cool than the planes would be)

https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/aMc37w/Convair-CV-880-Preview-0-8-with-Tu-104-nose
@DerekSP may be it is somehow related to my planes being heavy and having totally custom landing gear
Its great, but for some reason, the runway is kinda bouncy, all my planes landing gear start to bounce like on a rocky road, and tend to brake when nearing 150 mph
@DJ123 Thanks! Corrected
@Carsong1017 yep) sounds funny)
take a look on tu-104d-3 WIP, if interested.
https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/jqcpmH/017-tu-104d-3-0-11
may be it will work if you make an incline towards the center? And youse a joystick?)
cant still solve a problem - when you gain speed above 300-400 mph, the ball starts floating towards the camera and out of the box...
+1@asteroidbook345 well, it's simple. It wont take me long to modify the wings. And the tail will go straight from your 154
@asteroidbook345 Hi! I got into some troubles after scaling your tu-154 to a proper size. How about we make an intermediate project first? @DarthAbhinav thanks. Didnt know
@SSSvaSSa @GenrichTitov @DarthAbhinav @grantflys
i have corrected the mistake, please see an updated version in successors
@grantflys sorry, was too eager to boast it working) it was doing all sorts of strange things in development) i will get back home in a few hours and reupload. Or just move the hull with finetuner and set roll and pitch inputs in gyro to 0
@grantflys it may be glitching because i forgot to delete roll and pitch input...
There was a mod indeed. It disappeared...

how does an attitude indicator works?...
@Awsomur i think you should try. The game is actually quite promising, may be you'll like it more.
Cities Skylines kinda left me disappointed. Dunno why, it seems like a descent game, but still lacks something important in gameplay. It should be better, both by graphics and details in gameplay, but older simsity was more pleasant to play...

Thank you so much for an "Activate1" input in pistons) It solved freking numerous problems in my creations...
@Blue0Bull may be i will one day, will be interesting to compare. Kind of getting no pleasure in playing right now...
cockpit is too big for such a huge plane) Pilots would have front windows like 2m high)
It is great! And i like that you've made landing gear doors like me. Just one recomendation - may be you make flaps and ailerons like i do - with two wing panels so the wing has a realistic sharp trailing edge instead of rounded?
