The technique was used on a low part count blimp back when only gyro available was Gyro Cockpits mod. Neither one of you invented it. I can't remember whose blimp it was, but I do remember experimenting with that technique myself later, before figuring out I have nothing to use it on.
@Lahoski107 this is about a building, not a politician.
@Strikefighter04 all the sources I've checked state that firefighters were at the scene within minutes, not hours, and that it took around an hour and a half or two to put the fire under control to some point. Makes more sense too. I don't think they would have waited idly while one of the most important buildings in the country was burning down.
Uncle was showing me how to pirate for Android. Happened to show me on some "boring game for kids", which, of course, happened to be SP. I got bored of it after a while. Came back to it a year later, and quickly fell in love with the game.
I am playing for the sheer joy of building. I love seeing my ideas come to life.
I believe I'm one of the most diverse "pro builders". My builds include trucks, armored vehicles, jet and prop combat, transport and GA aircraft, ships, boats, helicopters, and even airships. Fictional only though.
I am a member of SimplePlanes Masters Chat. What happens on the site doesn't matter that much to me. As a moderator, I can say this community is pretty nice and clean.
My username is centered on my philosophy. Long story short, it is the lack of existence, and thus existence itself.
@AchuTMM do you think all I do for the whole day is refresh the SP.com waiting for notifications? There is the report option. Use that instead. Btw, another moderator has already removed the post you tagged me on.
@WHISKY12 I am slowly re-judging the challenge. I have lost all ratings when site glitched, and I'm not motivated anymore, so it might be a few more days until results are out.
This is the old system, used before update 1.7. It has a problem of being able to stop the barrel in the compressed position. Since 1.7 update allowed us to set damage of guns to 0, a new system was created where the piston is replaced by a shock, and there is a gun with no damage firing backwards at it to compress it. Still, nice gun.
And probably some other parts and features. Current 1.8 beta is actually not even a real beta. It's just meant to test the effects of the new game engine.
As @Flak99 said, you need a huge vertical stabilizer (keel) near the stern (rear of the ship). Also, use vectored thrust or another huge wing to steer the ship. Gyros give very unrealistic effect.
It's a nice debate you've got here. However, it's basically yelling at the cloud. Featured builds are chosen by moderators and developers according to their own taste, not a list of requirements, and you never know who featured it or why. "Feature" feature was succeeded by spotlight, but wasn't removed for some reason. It's not even that beneficial to a build really. A spotlight from, let's say, me puts your build into 979 jet streams where people can't miss it. Feature just puts it on the front page, along with builds everyone has already seen. Also, this debate doesn't really stand a chance of changing anything. Mods will continue featuring builds that they like or consider exceptional.
SP Masters is a closed group into which only the best builders get invited. And not even all of the best builders. You can join Builders Chat through the link in my bio though. That's the biggest SP-related chat on Discord.
@Kimcotupan15 you can xml as much as you want. You can check the drag of that little GA I posted yesterday to see how little there actually should be. That plane has realistic engine power and mass, and realistic max speed. That means drag must be realistic too.
If it's a different camo and custom weapons, it's fine by me. If you are planning to change the primary color by moving a slider and replacing infernos with interceptors, I don't see the point of posting it.
Both Piper Cub and Antonov An-2 are bush planes. What they have in common is that they can fly at very low speed and have very durable landing gear with large tires to help it over bumps and in the mud. They also preferably use taildragger configuration to keep prop higher off the ground.
I think Tully featured it. I wasn't able to test it when I upvoted. It was obvious from pictures it deserves an upvote, but I can't feature a build without making sure it works. Congrats on feature.
This is a great looking build. However, it has some problems. Trim up is required to keep the plane level, but it prevents opening of bomb bay. Nose is constantly trying to go up. Also, use tags. That way, your plane stands a chance of being stumbled upon by someone browsing, for example, "Bomber" tag.
@CruzerBlade one doesn't work without the other. SP would lose the whole point if I couldn't share my creations, and what's the point of being a part of the community if I can't participate?
Andrew said it won't have them initially. However, it's one of the most popular requests, and adds far more versatility to the game. So, we can expect it on one of the updates.
It's hard to say, really. That plane looks chubby and unattractive, although it's technically great. Also, it's always builds that you hold in high regard yourself that underachieve on the site. I know that from experience. "I hate this build. It doesn't look right, it doesn't work as well as I'd like, but I have worked too much to just scrap it. So I'll post it.". The build proceeds to score over 100 upvotes, three times more than my second best at the time. I upload a build I'm proud of, and it flops.
Only thing we need for boat building are better fuselage options (concave fuselage, twisting the fuselage). It would allow us to spend fewer parts on hulls. We can already make everything you mentioned except for arresting cables. Do you really think devs would waste time adding a helipad you can make out of two or three parts?
With a large high explosive warhead, this can blow up a portion of a carrier fleet. If its nuclear capability is estimated correctly, this is the most powerful weapon ever made. Still, since Russia is holding defensive position, trying to keep the geopolitical scene as it is against US aggressions, it will probably never get deployed. Regardless of strength in terms of conventional military, USA will never risk Russian nuclear retaliation.
I'll give you an example a friend reluctant to interact with other users on subjects like this gave me. Let's say you are going to a coffee shop to get a coffee. You want a good cup of coffee. Of course, you'll first go to a coffee shop you know has good coffee. If everyone is talking good stuff about their coffee and everybody goes there, it must be worth checking out.
On the other hand, if you stray into the coffee shop known for bad coffee or not known at all, and get some great coffee, you'll tell your friends, and they'll come to check it out. That's why good builds by less popular builders get so many upvotes.
But if you go into a mediocre coffee shop and get a mediocre coffee, you won't even mention being there. You won't advertise that coffee shop to others, and it won't get new customers.
There's one trick to fix that. I don't think anyone has eve used it on a build except me, despite me advertising it all over the place.
Your problem is drag. You need a lot of power to overcome it, making the plane accelerate very quickly, and making power-to-weight ratio in excess of unrealistic 2:1.
The fix is one of many SimplePlanes exploits. This exploit uses airbrake. Now, here's what you should do to:
Step 1: make the plane realistic in all other aspects. Wing loading, mass, CoM/CoL/CoT. power...
Put that airbrake on the plane, and edit "x" value until you get your intended max speed. If you did everything right, brake will be glitching. Place it on your plane along the centerline and nudge up and down to negate any pitch up or pitch down.
What you achieved by doing this is reduction of drag. Basically, if you did everything right, your plane now has realistic drag.
@CRJ900Pilot allow me to remind you that you have made a hula doll. Now, you have shown a lack of skill in making humanoids there. This guy, however, has shown incredible skill. Where are boobs on your build?
You're forgetting us red-tags :)

You need to buy the game for PC. It's worth it though. It is far better on PC.
+4@luciferSVM you can use FineTuner to scale the whole build to desired size after it is done. Only takes around five seconds.

+4@AndrewGarrison hey, that's not a small improvement. It's literally three times better frame rate than what I used to have on builds of that size.

+4Authros has created a perfect replica of Grob G 120TP with replica paint job and registration. Nobody complained. I think using a real registration while making a replica of a specific example of the plane is fine.
