I'm speechless. This is amazing
.
One thing you could fix is that you can only grab onto one side of the joystick. I'm not sure if that's intentional or not.
.
Also, gun elevation is hard to turn in VR and it doesn't seem possible for me to change convergence, as when I try to grab it, i just grab the elevation wheel instead
You managed to catch me while I was in my headset, but I cannot curate this as it is over the performance cost limit. It also doesn't have every function on the plane available in the cockpit either (no way to activate afterburners among other things). It's also incredibly hard to control in VR. It lags my quest 2 some as well
This is way better than the piston shenanigans I did with the copy you sent me.
Also, keep the performance cost in mind, and make sure this works in low physics if you would like this to be curated
@Jwpdaviesjr set the outputValue attribute to 3 for a button you want, then set the name of that button to something for easy use, then in the variable setter, set a variable that is buttonid - 1
.
Also, set the interactionType attribute to Toggle
. Example
[great, another way to sacrifice my money to Andrew]
Place simpleplanes logo on the back of a hoodie with icon over the heart. or do it the other way around. Or do the simpleplanes logo down the sleeves. Maybe have logo on back and over the heart
@JustWingIt can your phone run 5000 parts with many different rendered aircraft? if it cant, then you wont be able to do multiplayer on your phone. servers also cost money, and the devs dont wanna shell out money on multiplayer servers when most devices cant handle it anyway. also, you can fight the brown pearl, its quite hard (without 360 degree autolock nuke missles), and provides a fun fight if your using a well built speedy aircraft with an overabundance of flares. maybe when the devs are bored, they can turn the kraken into a bossfight. but that isnt on the devs agenda at the moment.
@Red0Bulll the symbols should be able to curve anyway because they are characters, like letters and stuff. unless it's some sort of unity quirk, which is a likely case
@Haikuotiankong it is EXTREMELY hard to get a video game into the chinese market, and there are hundreds of strict guidelines that this game has to follow. also, if they want to have a website for the game to upload to, it has to be a chinese based website, that has to undergo extremely strict moderation. it is not a financially smart idea for the devs to do a chinese version. as chinese servers, to my knowledge, are expensive as hell, and the devs already have 3 websites and two communities. adding another website and community is just a money sink for where profit never returns.
A seamless way to transition between SP and SPVR, as we will need to quickly be able to swap between VR flight and the designer to build a cockpit. Aka, I don't want to wait 5 minutes just to test out a small change in a build
I mainly use it to move subassemblies without jank, and i have figured out how to get mods on ios, but the moderators and devs ill ban me on the spot if i tell you how
I dunno if you have any experience with general android development, but now that SP won't get any updates for quite some time, I have a good theory of how the community could bring back android modding support. (I'm no android dev myself but I've seen the same thing happen to other apps, so it could be doable.)
Said theory is patching. We do not have to abide by the play store's rules, we can extract the simpleplanes apk, decompile it, insert our own code, re-sign it, and bam, we have mods. We shouldn't have the patch itself contain mods, instead, we have the patch be a modloader that lets the game read and run standard spmod.android files. The mobile version can still run certain map mods, but lacks the support to run any real code, Perhaps we can patch in a way to run the code instead of a whole modloader.
(Search up ReVanced & lucky patcher if you want examples of apk patching)
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes JNO has one connection per connection point per part. You cant just connect everything together willy nilly like you can in SP. In JNO, I can only have a fuel tank connected to one end of a rotator and a wing on the other
in SP, I could have 4 fuselages, a wing, and a missile connected to one end, and have the other end connected to multiple fuselages, a fuel tank, and a cockpit block.
The pointer tool on JNO mobile has much smaller hotboxes than the one on SP mobile, leading to me fat fingering it and creating a giant mess of mirrored parts.
Unfortunate to see, but not surprising. I would move over to SR2 and start building there, but due to severe limitations of it's building system, I will stick around here. SP shall never die.
+5they always come back

+5@XAircraftManufacturer erm, that is already uploaded
+5Please remember that hate speech (including offensive jokes) is not tolerated, the mods are watching.
+5This is hilarious, but I'm not sure how you got that much precision out of the cursor, I would have used fine tuner and the part transform tool
+5I'll curate this one later tonight
+5Congrats! Your okthxbye permit will be mailed to you shortly.

Every day we stray closer to DooM in simpleplanes. Saying good work here is an understatement. Now for one last question...
HOW
+5This would work better in the forums
+5Insert audio of howler monkeys
+5you can post it unlisted if you dont want other people to see it, click on the "public" button before you upload
+5Another hypno, its been a long time since ive seen one
