This is an outstanding build! Would you consider adding VTOL and throttle controls in the cockpit for VR players? If you ever do, please tag me and I'd love to check it out in VR.
@rfostoria Totally understandable. Without VR it's very difficult to know how to size things correctly. I'm going through a few recent designs tonight and giving feedback as I try them in VR.
If you make a new model, you will need to make a new post, unfortunately.
Very cool build, but one thing I noticed while trying this in VR is that the cockpit is very big. I'm able to comfortably stand up in the cockpit without hitting my head on the canopy.
@jamesPLANESii I would recommend the Oculus Quest 2. It's $299 and you can plug it into your computer with a USB-C cable and play VR games from your PC. It also supports Oculus Air Link so you can wirelessly stream games from your PC and of course it supports standalone Quest games when you don't have access to your PC. Another nice thing about it is that it uses inside-out tracking, so you don't need to plug in external sensors and place them around your room.
@UraniumOxide @Urya @Bishobe The update was submitted to Amazon on September 24th, but it is still in review. This is the longest we've ever seen an app take to pass Amazon's review. The current status says: "App Submission Under Review - The app submission is taking longer than expected to go live. Stay tuned for further updates."
@WarHawk95 I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Of course, everyone grieves differently, but I can ask my dad when I see him next. Also, I recently ran across this interview between Stephen Colbert and Anderson Cooper having a touching conversation about grief. They both lost their fathers at a young age.
I'm just trying to limp this tournament along to the finish, but tomorrow when I'm back in the office I would like to investigate what is causing the game to crash. If I can fix it, I'd like to do a redo tournament next Sunday. After that, I'll probably disallow airbrake propulsion for future tournaments.
@Notaleopard @Oski If you are using footage from SimplePlanes, then that is fine. If you are just linking to a random fail compilation on YouTube that has nothing to do with SimplePlanes, then that is not allowed.
If the successor system doesn't work, you can tag me and I can link it manually. If you want me to link this plane, just give me the post URL of the predecessor.
@MrSilverWolf @EternalDarkness Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad to hear there's a small performance improvement. @NathanMikeska do you think the black lines could be related to the reverse z-buffer changes in Unity?
I just pushed a small website update yesterday, so this looks like something I broke. Thanks for letting me know. It should work again now when the description is left blank.
@Chancey21 That makes me sad! I don't spend enough time on the site lately because we're crunching on SR2, but I just checked out some of your recent builds. You make great stuff.
@Bryan5 It's a highly requested features so of course it is something that we are considering, but ultimately that will come down to if we have enough time before release. If not before the initial release then I suspect that we will tackle it in a future, tank themed update.
@TatsuTheOtaku Our plan is to be able to load a SP1 craft in SP2 and it should mostly work as it does in SP1. If you resave in SP2 the XML will be different and it will not load in SP1.
@Graingy @Mousewithamachinegun122 When you upload a craft to SimplePlanes.com, you retain ownership over your original ideas and concepts. However, you grant Jundroo permission to use these creations for marketing and promotional purposes, which helps us highlight your incredible work and brings more visibility to it.
Jundroo owns the intellectual property related to the site's operation and presentation. This includes the technology and services that support SimplePlanes.com, but not the creative concepts of your user-submitted designs. Essentially, while you own your original ideas, the platform owns the means by which those ideas are shared and displayed.
We have no issue with you selling your original creations made using our platform, but any sales must respect copyright and trademark laws relating to the content of your creation. In addition to that, if you want to sell someone else's craft then you would need to obtain written permission from the original author.
Your builds are looking better. Everything is a bit small in the cockpit but passable for VR. If you added a throttle slider and label your switches then I could curate this.
I have updated the XML on this post to fix an issue with the wheels jittering in VR due to the lower physics timestep. I was able to fix it by reducing sideways friction on the wheels. If you are not okay with this tweak, let me know and I can revert the change, but I would also need to remove the curated status.
Target acquired. Maximum force applied. Waiting for further briefing. Very cool craft, but unfortunately it blows up on (mobile) Low Physics, which is what the Quest uses. I was able to get it running in slow-mo and check it out. Nice build.
@jamesPLANESii I have a service running that downloads all planes to calculate a "performance cost." We haven't published it yet, but the idea is that performance cost will give a better idea than part count in terms of how well a craft will perform.
@LightningTreeSavor The _ editor _.xml.bak backup file is overwritten every time you load into the level, but any other .bak file is only overwritten when saving the aircraft from the menu -> Save Aircraft dialog.
@Kittyhawk909 @scratch @CenturyAerospace @nuuuu @Suica @Hunsolo @Walvis @Power123 @EDEN971 @SpletzerAvion That's a lot of great suggestions. I made a new post here where you can add suggestions for the v1.11 update.
@AN2Felllla Thank you for making those awesome crafts. I enjoyed flying them in VR! We have some features in the works to help make it easier to build cockpits. We'll post more about it next week.
@CaptainSquadronLeaderX Yes, we are planning to release for Oculus Quest 1&2. The graphics won't be as good as the Steam version, but it's so awesome to be able to play untethered or if you don't have a PC available. You can reach out with your touch controllers and grab virtual flight sticks. It's so much fun, I can't wait for you guys to play it.
It's unlikely they can be recovered, but if you send me the .xml file and the .bak file for your craft I can take a look to see if there's anything I can do. Send them to me at games@jundroo.com.
This is an outstanding build! Would you consider adding VTOL and throttle controls in the cockpit for VR players? If you ever do, please tag me and I'd love to check it out in VR.
+5Amazing build! Any possibility we could get a collective lever in the cockpit for VR players? I'd love for VR players to be able to experience this!
+5Looks good. Curated.
+5@rfostoria Totally understandable. Without VR it's very difficult to know how to size things correctly. I'm going through a few recent designs tonight and giving feedback as I try them in VR.

+5Very cool build, but one thing I noticed while trying this in VR is that the cockpit is very big. I'm able to comfortably stand up in the cockpit without hitting my head on the canopy.
+5Very cool, but the cockpit camera is too far back and too low in VR.

+5@jamesPLANESii We are on < day 30 of lockdown here in the US and people are getting pretty antsy already...
+5@WarHawk95 I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Of course, everyone grieves differently, but I can ask my dad when I see him next. +5I'm just here for the free wifi.
+5@Nerfaddict @Sm10684 @demoman9 This race is for Snow Crawl. Sorry for the copy-paste mistake!
+5I just ran a validation check. If you were in violation, you will have received a notification. No news is good news.
+5Thank you for the kind words. That really means a lot to us to hear that our game has impacted you in a positive way. Enjoy your winter break!
+5@Awsomur Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. He's an interesting guy who's lived an interesting life.
+5@Dinoairplanes Yep! This is my first mod.
+5@Notaleopard @Oski If you are using footage from SimplePlanes, then that is fine. If you are just linking to a random fail compilation on YouTube that has nothing to do with SimplePlanes, then that is not allowed.

+5@CrazyCatZe Are you on iOS? If so, this is a known bug and we'll look into it with the 1.8 update.
+5@Jetliner101 The @Jundroo is run by all of us and none of us. Some of us. Sometimes.
+5@flyingsteve88 You can build anything in SR2, just like in SP. Several people have made airplanes and rovers already. Also a flying pencil and a boat.
+5I just pushed a small website update yesterday, so this looks like something I broke. Thanks for letting me know. It should work again now when the description is left blank.
+5@RailfanEthan Yes, that's Philip.
+5@Chancey21 That makes me sad! I don't spend enough time on the site lately because we're crunching on SR2, but I just checked out some of your recent builds. You make great stuff.
+5@F4f879 You have to click Load More Comments at the bottom and then it will show up.
+5Wow, you found that fast! :) It was a last minute addition, thanks to Kevin, William, and Nathan for making it happen.
+5@Bryan5 It's a highly requested features so of course it is something that we are considering, but ultimately that will come down to if we have enough time before release. If not before the initial release then I suspect that we will tackle it in a future, tank themed update.

+4@XAircraftManufacturer Thanks for the link, that is helpful information for taming komodo dragons.
+4Nice suit!
+4Merry Christmas!
+4Your builds are looking better. Everything is a bit small in the cockpit but passable for VR. If you added a throttle slider and label your switches then I could curate this.
+4@JaySto That's great! Glad to hear you are enjoying the game! Love that positive energy!

+4@X4JB That's fine to still make a separate post for minor improvements as that is how the community has always worked in the past.
+4Works well in VR. Only suggestion is it would be nice to have a throttle somewhere in the cockpit.
+4Target acquired. Maximum force applied. Waiting for further briefing. Very cool craft, but unfortunately it blows up on (mobile) Low Physics, which is what the Quest uses. I was able to get it running in slow-mo and check it out. Nice build.

+4@jamesPLANESii I was able to confirm this was an error with our publish job. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'll think about how we can improve this.
+4lol, @pedro16797 you still have white flair here.
+4@LightningTreeSavor The _ editor _.xml.bak backup file is overwritten every time you load into the level, but any other .bak file is only overwritten when saving the aircraft from the menu -> Save Aircraft dialog.

+4@Kakhikotchauri1 I believe the trees become 2D sprites from a distance but turn into 3D models when you get close. Is that not what you are seeing?
+4It's unlikely they can be recovered, but if you send me the .xml file and the .bak file for your craft I can take a look to see if there's anything I can do. Send them to me at games@jundroo.com.
