Putting price on making an account would mean fewer purchases and fewer new accounts. Advertising costs money. Donations page would suggest amateur work and would put people off the game.
Did you know that you can now post unlisted to write a description and even tag moderator to make the post a successor to the challenge, and then publish it? No need to post twice. Also, I assume this is a teaser for a bigger build, so I'll save my upvote for that one. Nice machine gun though.
This is a very good looking build. However, it could use some improvements. There are appear to be some collisions on control surfaces, and flaps aren't quite doing what they're supposed to. You should use hidden wings slightly in front of CoM for flaps effect and leave cosmetic flaps empty. I ran it as a slideshow on my old laptop, so I'm not sure about the rest of the performance. I hope this feedback will make your next build even better :)
If you ever change your mind, your place in SimplePlanes Masters is still waiting for you. As for your estrangement to your techniques, that might even be a good thing, as with all the new stuff we got since you left, those techniques are well obsolete. There's a lot of fun to be had experimenting with new parts and inputs.
While this is a nice looking plane and is much better than what I was making when I had 2000 points, it has many flaws. I'll state a few below with instructions on how to avoid them on your future builds. I hope you'll find them useful.
Ailerons should be on the outboard section of the wing, entire inner trailing edge should be flaps (area that is now divided into flaps and ailerons).
You have too much power. No plane can reach mach 2 at sea level. It should be able to barely maintain its stated maximum speed at its optimal flight altitude (around 8km). Also, acceleration is too quick due to too much power. To fix all these issues, reduce drag to between 3000 and 5000 points via "calculateDrag = false" input in Overload mod and reduce engine power to get appropriate speed and acceleration.
There is no trim. Trim is necessary for maintaining attitude throughout flight regimes. You can have trim with custom control surfaces by adding another set of rotators to elevators. Reduce "min" and "max" values in "input" tab in Overload mod to get lower angle of deflection.
It's difficult to hit anything with missiles, as they take too long to lock and targeting circles are small, especially with "interceptor". You can edit (add lines) "lockTime" and "maxTargetingAngle" to "missile" tab in Overload to edit the performance of the missile. You can also use "maxRange", "maxSpeed", and a few other inputs.
Roll rate is very low for a fighter. It should roll better. Putting ailerons closer to wingtips where they should be should fix that, but you can also add a third set of rotators to the tail and have the horizontal stabilizers participate in the roll too.
My advice is to not worry about trends. Magic of SP is being able to create what you want, and put as much work into it as you feel proper, and that's never going away.
I hope we'll see you back, Rambo. Enjoy your break.
@AsteroidAsteroidTheBook you're free to disagree, of course. You're not allowed to start a riot on the site just because your explicit build got removed.
I fully support this. You dev people should interact with the community more. And since every one of my build in the last two years has spent time on the front page and what I'm preparing for upload is even better, can't wait to see my builds being played with :)
5pm CTZ is midnight by GMT+2, so I should be free to watch streams. I prefer YouTube over Twitch.
@AndrewGarrison I saw rank tags on SR2. That's what gave me an idea for a suggestion. Maybe this site needs a bit more thorough revamp? Difficulty of implementing new features is just one of many problems. Comment, spotlight, or even upload time are often being shown as up to -22 seconds. A little thumbnail in a tab panel is often not showing. Lack of dark option is only partially fixed by WNP78's script. Aircraft thumbnails are too small, given that they are what we want to see first before downloading. There are many more things that could be improved on this site, learning from experience you have (I believe) gained from SimpleRockets.com.
Someone told you you're a fake?! Who the hell tells that to bronze users? You're a user still developing his technique, nobody can expect perfection from you. You still need time. Just keep pushing, and ignore any criticism that doesn't offer actual advice that would help you improve your builds.
I believe it originates from some old videogame, where in one mission/cutscene you are attending a military funeral and have to press "F" to pay respect. I think player character salutes when you press "F", I'm not sure.
It looks absolutely stunning. Maybe remove the exterior details like paint scheme and ribs of control surfaces for performance test version and keep them for public version. I guess they have no mass and drag, and will thus not impact performance. I will judge looks on public version and ask a friend with a more powerful computer to check if performance are the same.
@ASDFASDF1 this build doesn't imply to terrorism, nor does it stereotype middle-eastern culture. According to Google, kebab trucks do exist all over the world.
@QingyuZhou you forgot to reduce thrust of the VTOL engine to 0. Other than that, nice build.
I understand that you have taken the missiles, modified them a little bit, and then used them without credit for the sake of realism, as that's how the real K-13s came to be, but a few letters stating where they came from wouldn't have ruined the effect too much.

Underaged users are permabanned as a rule. I did however adjust his ban to expire on his 13th birthday though. Btw, I really hate banning users, especially good ones like Enzo, for being underaged. Read the terms of service kids.
Considering the part count, I'd say there's more to this build than meets the eye. I suggest adding some closeup and interior (if there is one) pictures to description, since many of us can't download this monster.
You can set firing delay to "0" on all guns except the last one to fire, and set firing delay on the last one to be time between salvos. It's not a perfect solution, but it's the closest you can get without the salvo option. I have suggested salvo option to devs and they'll look into it.
@Atomicdragon your comment has been removed for excessive profanity. To clarify, devs aren't removing mod support from android version because they want to, but because they have to. Alternative is no further development of SimplePlanes. Devs are working hard to add features of all of the most important mods into the stock game so that Android users don't suffer much of a loss, and that's the best thing they can do in the given circumstances.
This is a nice and friendly community, and toxicity is looked down upon, and is against the rules. You will get a lot more pleasure from this game if you try to be friendly to the rest of the community.
With all the teasers, I was expecting a lot more from this build. Hopefully, a bit of feedback will help you improve your technique.
Landing gear opens and closes with VTOL. You're on Windows, and thus capable of using XML editing. Easiest way to edit XML is Overload mod. Use this list to find inputs you need. For gear, it's "LandingGear" and min value "0".
No flaps. Dude...
Control surfaces are moving through fuselage blocks. Even stock wings are a better option than that. I think I've already linked you to the easy way to make good wings. If I haven't before, I have now.
No tail wheel. How can we steer on the ground without tail wheel?
No bomb bay. With paneled fuselage, I was really expecting a bomb bay.
Performance are close to a biplane fighter, but even more extreme. Very tight turning radius, extreme acceleration, and high roll rate. You can reduce acceleration while maintaining max speed by reducing both drag and engine power until you get correct climb rate.
This is my opinion. If you enjoy building more basic builds like this, I don't have a problem with that. However, you can do much better with just a bit more effort.
I'm a bit confused. Steam page claims SP was released on 17th of December 2015 (three years ago today), but this build is 4.7 years old, making it 1.7 years older than SP itself.
A very well built, efficient plane. Rurn rate is good, and so is pitch authority. It has quite a nose down tendency and flaps have very little to no effect. Trim authority is low, I can't set it to maintain a climb. Fuel only lasts a few minutes. Overall, needs a few minor tweaks to perfection.
I always advise low experience users not to host challenges. Also, any challenge that doesn't get rated within two weeks of closing may be reported for point mining.
As for rewards, people who usually win challenges shouldn't care about the prise. Even fifty upvotes means nothing to them with all the points they already have. Reward is having a better build than the others.
PS. I'll never even consider entering a challenge that uses a photo and a cockpit. A proper challenge has fuselage art in it.
@ThePilotDude cut it out. The guy choose a flag as a decoration. Every flag in the world stands for some crimes in the eyes of those it marched against.
Good looking build with great weapon set. However, it does leave a bit to be desired in terms of performance and building technique. For one, the way you are doing control surfaces doesn't provide a sharp trailing edge. You can try to combine your technique of using a large oval fuselage block for most of the wing with my technique to get a smooth airfoil. Acceleration is too fast, especially for a fully loaded plane, and pitch authority may be too high at high speed. I'd say it also goes well over its stated top speed at optimal altitude, but I'm not sure as I'm getting a bit of lag with it. I'm hearing clicking noises when turning sharp or using slow motion, indication that collisions aren't disabled on some of the moving parts. Also, I don't see a point of having weapons both named and assigned to an activation group.
@Linethesmarty I do not understand your problem. Mods have been a part of the game since the start, if that's what you are having a problem with. If it is my red tag you are having a problem with, I am a moderator of this site, appointed by game developers.
@toxicgamer88 no. Beside the fact that we don't feature on request, there are problems with the build itself because of which it hasn't been featured already.
The plane takes off so quickly it's nearly a VTOL.
Turns hard right on the runway.
Inner control surfaces are ailerons and outer ones elevators while it should be the opposite.
Pitch and roll authority are poor.
Turning afterburner on creates a fireball around the midsection.
Plane is downscaled, real Mirage 2000 being around 14m long, not 11.7m.
Those are just problems a very quick test revealed. You've focused too much on the cockpit and neglected the rest of the plane.
Putting price on making an account would mean fewer purchases and fewer new accounts. Advertising costs money. Donations page would suggest amateur work and would put people off the game.
